Well, it is possible to do it. Sony just has it set up to where the developers have to add that feature. A few games already support in game music.

What's this sh*t from Sony? It says I can't download the 2.70 because an error occured or something like that. Error 80710123 or something like that. First it downloads till like 3% then it stops? God, can't buy COD map packs, no ps2 compatibility what's up? Any tips about the sh*tty update and is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

Damn, I was hoping this would be the update that allows you to play your own music in games, like the 360. While they are at it they could update the interface for opening files. It's pretty poorly done right now, IMO they could learn alot from itunes' setup.

Chillout oldage. It's lame enough you can't just listen to music while playing any game like the 360, but then I have to hear you talk about this developers sh*t. I know what you're talking about, but it's stupid.

 

I haven't been online on my PS3 for almost a month because my connection was being a bitch and I recently moved... So, I'm not too fimiliar with this new update but I did watch a brief demostration over at GameTrailers. I really don't have anything to say about it, but all I was hoping for is the feature which allows you to talk to someone on the mic who is even playing a different game or none at all. Whatever the hell it's called on the 360, voicechat or something.

 

God Sony is slower than a herd of turtles stampeding through.

So far I haven't seen any support for it. Not even from games in the Playstation store.

 

It is apparently up to game developers to incorporate the feature if they wish. Just like the ability to capture screens.

 

 

 

Personally, I think it should be mandatory.

 

Although, it is probably limited due to copyrights.

Yeah, but like a turtle, I think Sony is doing a pretty good job and has been slow and steady. They aren't forgetting about us. Within a year I bet PS3 will be caught up to XBOX. If XBOX was 100% then PS3 is about 80-85%. But it might be too late in one year.

the only problem with taking the slow road is that the XBOX 360 is already 4 years old this year.  A new XBOX console will be coming within 2 years and that will hurt the PS3

new consoles don't always means it's gonna be the best one out there or conquer the previous rival's console...

I'm being optimistic when I say the PS3 has a real good spot of longevity in it.

 

Just like HOME which was released to the public months ago was able to get my attention once again what with all that "xi" stuff going on. Sure it's a bit corny, and cheesy, and the arcade games aren't exactly 'OMGODAWESOME' but it did show that HOME as a service can actually be "interesting".

I think the way to console struggle has played out has turned out pretty good. I mean, you have the Wii which is fairly cheap and caters to it's market of casual gamers very well. It also has enough good titles to keep active gamers coming back. Then there's the 360 the cheapest of the three has an excellent library of games, great online play and DLC. Finally the PS3, while the most expensive has *free* online gaming, blu-ray player and heaps of great games. I've got a PS3 and a Wii, but to be honest I would be happy with any of those three consoles. I'll probably buy a 360 in the next few months. And I can definatley see my self with a next generation Xbox.

 

The only reason the PS3 will remain a close contender with the next Xbox is because it has the blu-ray player + free online gaming. If the 360 had those two features it would be hard to choose another console over it.

Text chat, not voice chat. I'm sure they are working on the voice chat. It is one of the most requested features.

I think Sony have only gone with Text Chat for now for a test, just to see how well it works and the next Firmware will possibly add in voice chat, well I hope it does, it's one of the only things that XBL seems to have over PSN.

 

 

I believe cross game chat + in-game chat are patented by Microsoft. Sony has to figure out a different way to do it. One is, allow developers to implement it.

It's Complete. Utter. Bullsh*t. This was originally expected to be an exclusive PS3 release. The announcement was brought up on April 1, so I thought to myself this was just some kind of joke. Turns out, it's real as your mom's tits. I mean come on, I clearly understand that Naughty Dog is currently working on Uncharted 2, but don't ruin the Jak franchise by working on it on the freaking PS2 and PSP. They could have just waited until they finished Uncharted and got it released, then start working on Jak on the PS3, but no. I mean, I'm pretty sure they will at some point release a title for the PS3, but The Lost Frontier was the name they were going to use...

It was expected. Naughty Dog mentioned the Uncharted engine could of come in good use during development for this title.
