"Xi" is the world's first console-based Alternate Reality Game. The game is an adventure that takes place in a series of secret areas in Home changing day by day and week by week. This game was created by nDreams who have released a space for Xi called The Hub. Xi has been advertised via clues and hints over the past month prior to its release on March 23, 2009. The clues and hints were found in video messages after trailers that were played in the central meeting point and through the "News" and "Latest Update" sections of the Home Menu Pad. Xi and The Hub are exclusive to Europe and North America and can be accessed via the "Teleport" found in the central meeting point. The Hub cannot be accessed through the World Map. The Hub includes the "HoloPAD", "Stapler" (robot), "Online Getaway" (accesses Message Board, Video Vault, Miguel's Blog, Web Browser, and Alpha AFK website), screen that tells "What's New", a "View weekly re-cap" screen, an "Unregister yourself from Xi", and three pods. The Alpha AFK website, HoloPAD, and Stapler, in that order, can only be accessed by finding three pieces of paper.[56]

I think i've been kicked off PSN.

 

Last night i was talking to this lad i no about map pack sharing, So in the end we exchanged details. Anyway, woke up this morning the download & installation was succesful & logged onto my account to the message 'You cannot use Playstation Network with this account - 8002a231', so i looked up taht error code on Google & found a few people have had it before. I really don't no what to do. Im so gutted

 

Do you suggest i contact Playstation support about it?

It's probably something like the Uncharted areas, where you find out some secret keys and codes, and unlock more rooms and stuff, from what i see it.

Wow, although im unbelievebly relieved. I seriously don't remember doing anything like this on Home, I was checking the XI thing & didnt have contact with any other users. But i was pretty sure it was for Map sharing. Well i'm grateful it will be lifted, as i thought i'd lost all my trophies & stats. It's going to be a long month.

 

EDIT: I now remember, it was a remark i made to Furnace (from the forums) well i'll leave it at that & just be pleased i havnt been completely kicked off.

I wouldn't worry about game/file/map sharing on PSN, i've been over a friends house and downloaded Warhawk onto his PS3s HDD, and i've shared a few other things to someone else. I don't really think Sony have a problem with it, or else they would have a protection thing on the files like Microsoft do with things off the Marketplace.

Hopefully A Crack in Time isn't a little short game like Quest for Booty again.

 

God of War looks like it's in a pretty good shape at the moment, so I'm expecting a fall or Christmas release.

My PS3 blueray died a few weeks ago, so I sent it out for warranty repair-- I backed up the hard drive first using the backup utility to and external hard drive.

 

I got it back yesterday (actually it looks like a different PS3-- my scratches are gone) and restored the backup-- but it created a new user (USER 1) for the console-- I ended up deleting the user before doing much with it... but when looking for my game saves under my normal profile, could not find my game saves... (PS3 or PS2 virtual cards)-- were they not backed up or were they in the (user 1) profile it created that I deleted.... just asking before I restore my backup again--

 

Please tell me my saves were backed up when I backed up the hard drive (or was I supposed to copy those to backup media seperately.)

"Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time" Announced

Another Ratchet & Clank? How many have they made so far? I remember playing the original Ratchet & Clank only a few years back, and since then they've piled out sequel after sequel. Are the games still actually any good?

Did you use an external HDD to backup your stuff on or did you just backup your stuff on the same HDD?

 

edit: whoops

Just use an USB stick to back up your mot important stuff, like your most played games save data and maybe your pr0n movies on your PS3.

that was a whole other thing to do under games its the save data utility and your supposed to back those up as well, i usually just copy them onto a flash drive for safe keepings.

So essentially, I'm screwed (regarding my game saves since I never backed those up)-- kind of an important thing to leave out of a hard drive backup-- don't you think?

 

The only one I'm going to really miss is my GTA IV saves-- I was working on the IV trophies, but haven't quite finished the single player ones-- 100%, pigeons, jumps, etc.. so if I want those, I have to put in about 30-40 hours or so to get back to where I was on that save.

For example, I can use entropay on a US PSN account, as I didn't my credit card info will not be valid.

Another Ratchet & Clank? How many have they made so far? I remember playing the original Ratchet & Clank only a few years back, and since then they've piled out sequel after sequel. Are the games still actually any good?

Oh yeah, definitely. Tools of Destrution is brilliant in every aspect. Quest for Booty is just as good but the story is a little shorter and offers less weapons than that of ToD. Hence the reason it's like 15 bucks at the PlayStation Store.

Does it display the little spinning icon in the top right (I think) of the screen? Does it play other media such as a CD or DVD?

Well, if you have that try to start up a demo.

then insert the disc and go to the ingame XMB.

play the disc, it'll say it needs to close the demo to play the game.

and you're playing it after demo closed.

 

otherwise go spare 150$

I hate to sound pessimistic, but is the disc clean and clear of scratches? 99% of the time, when my disc wont load, it's because there is a finger print or some other mess on the CD. Sometimes you don't notice, and you do it when you're handling the disc.

I tried my Ps3 again I wiped the disc, tried blu-rays,dvds and other games still didn't work. Look like i have to send my ps3 in for repairs .

sorta reminds of myst: uru for all that puzzles, clue searching etc. (if anyone remembers URU, it was hoped to be an online myst game with customizable avatars... not too far from what home and this whole 'xi' thing is concerned)

Dude, I just got it. It takes some time to get used to. Now I'm on my computer. And on the keypad there is a dedicated É key which is funny.

I got this a few months ago and am using it now and all the time, it's pretty good but I do sometimes press another button by accident, the only rubbish thing about it is when you turn it into a mouse and use your finger it goes all over the place so it's best to use anologue sticks for mouse.
