Check out this new racing game, kind of like Burnout but called Split Second.

New trailer - here.

I'm also looking forward to inFamous.

Disney interactive?

DISNEY INTERACTIVE???

What??? mercie_blink.gif

Looks really really good though.

Yes bean, DISNEY do games like that, well they publish them anyway.

Yeah, that does look pretty damn cool, but it looks pre-rendered to me, i'd lke to see some proper game play before i start having a proper opinion on it.

Does WiFi signal strength effect internet download speeds? My signal strength is just under 50% and I'm getting some pretty savage lag on CoD4. I do have broadband capable of 1 mbps speeds in the right circumstances.

CoD4 doesn't really rely on the download of your connection, more your upload and most essentially - your ping. Do a speedtest at www.speedtest.com and paste the IMG code here. smile.gif

Yeah me too. It reminds me of Assassin's Creed except modern.

Split second looks interesting....selecting random events looks cool, could prove fun. I'd like a mode where you're a spectator but you can control all the events.....playing god...heheheh.

Mind you, it's all CGI atm....cars remind me of Ridge Racer though. Good biggrin.gif

Saw that trailer today and it does look pretty awesome, online should be very interesting. Like that mode idea Mark. If the graphics are anything like that then the game would look stunning.

Don't be put of by the Disney being the publisher thougg as they published Pure as well and that was a decent game

Downloads - 9171 kb/s

Uploads - 122 kb/s

Ping - 48ms

I do think the PS3 servers are slower than that test though, it takes forever for me to download updates and patches for games and such, whereas if I do it through my computer it flies along.

What would ideal CoD4 speeds be?

I think your problem may be lying in your upload, and if your flag is correct, your location. Most of the time you connect to a US host or server, which would mean severe lag. I know that, through the hard way. sad.gif

Yeah, your right, I just tested on a server in Florida.

As for the authentic PS3 controller, ther isin't really a way to do it, unless your some geeky hacker that can understand Japenese, look here.

I'm sure you could get a generic PS3 controller to use much easier though.

Just buy a 360 wired controller and get the proper software and you can use that.

I used the file in here to connect my controller to the pc. It was hard but it did work. I tried playing GTA SA on the pc with a sixaxis and it worked well.

Insomniac wired for PS3 exclusive

Resistance 2 creator teases new game for Sony's flagship console; studio named fifth-best place to work in California.

Insomniac Games has been committed to Sony's hardware dating all the way back to Disruptor, its maiden effort released in 1996. Since then, the Burbank, California-based independent studio has crafted some of the most well-known franchises appearing on Sony's console, including Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, and, most recently, Resistance, the first installment of which was a launch game for the PlayStation 3.

Consequently, it came as no surprise when Insomniac revealed today that it is currently at work on a new game exclusively for the PS3. Word of the upcoming project came by way of an announcement touting Insomniac as one of the top five places to work in California. As such, no details were revealed on the game, which Insomniac still regards as "unannounced."

As for the independent studio's award, Insomniac said that it was ranked fifth in this year's Employers Group "California's Best Places to Work" survey. According to the Employers Group, rankings were determined both by a survey completed by randomly selected employees as well as responses related to a company's work environment, policies, practices, and benefits.

"Last year was an especially historic time for Insomniac in that we launched two successful games in one year while also laying the groundwork for our new North Carolina studio," Insomniac Games founder and president Ted Price said in a statement. "It's therefore especially gratifying to earn such praise for our work culture considering the volume of activity and change we experienced. When we factor in the multitude of innovative companies populating the state, this honor becomes even more humbling and special."

The award marks the eighth of its kind that Insomniac has received since 2005. Previously, the studio has been honored for three years running as one of the Top 10 Small Businesses to Work for in America, as deemed by Great Places to Work. Insomniac has also been named as one of the top places to work in various other surveys encompassing the California, Los Angeles, and San Fernando Valley areas.

Reading some comments, people seem to be predicting another Reistance or Ratchet game. Maybe a whole new project.

In Quest For Booty, "The Quest continues this fall." was teased.

Oh goody, I hope they're making a whole new project. Insomniac has made some pretty awesome games, I can't wait to see what they're making now.

If it isin't a new series they'll be doing another Ratchet & Clank. I remeber reading somewhere they've been alternating between resitance and R & C for the last few years.

Grand Theft Auto Dude

I've been having a problem with my PS3 since I got it, but I've been forgetting to ask here. So, here goes:

Every time someone in my house picks up the home phone (It's a pretty standard wireless one), I get signed out from PSN. Is this a problem with the phone, the router, or the PS3? And how could it be fixed?

you only have one line for your internet and phone, so you can only use one or the other. Seems your phone has right of way, I think the only thing you can do is get a second line installed.

Assuming you have DSL...do you have the phone filter connected to your phone line?

Interesting News:

Tecmo recently invited us to its upcoming new game announcement, taking place on March 24th. According to the invite, this will be the greatest "_____" game ever. Logic tells us that the new game announcement will be a continuation of one of Tecmo's franchises. Could this be the greatest Dead or Alive game ever? Maybe it's the greatest Ninja Gaiden game ever? Better yet, it might be the best Rygar game ever, dethroning the recently released Wii version.

We may not know what Tecmo is planning to announce, but we're confident the game will be for either the PS3 or PSP. Why? Tecmo's announcement will take place at the PlayStation Store in San Francisco. If the company's upcoming game is a PlayStation exclusive, it continues Tecmo's newly-found love affair with Sony -- the company is currently working on Undead Knights and Quantum Theory as PlayStation exclusives.

Looking forward to obtaining some more information on both sides.

Grand Theft Auto Dude

Over time, the Portable ID will evolve to include Trophies and achievements

wat

Anyway, the portable ID is neat and all, but the 'mood' thing, favourite platform and favourite game aren't required, and the whole thing is HUGE. It needs to be small enough to fit as a signature for forums to be useful. Yo can disable the trophy information to make it smaller, but then it doesn't have trophy information, so all you're doing is showing your favourite platform, game, and your 'Mood' (What's the point of that anyway? This isn't Facebook).

Also, it showed 'Metal gear Solid 4' just as 'Met...' for me. They need to redo this.

Hmm, the official psn signature seems to be too big for these forums.... I suggest the mods will handle this right?
