Talking about Home, I got 3 PS accounts (UK, USA & Japan) pretty pissed off I needed to install Home on all three accounts, and also annoying annot use clothes I bought from the UK Home on the USA

Aren't updates mandatory? If an update screws up a few consoles, Sony usually makes it optional until they fix the problem. So if you haven't updated, you haven't lost access to the store or online.

I had a good time in warhawk last night. I got 2 flag captures and blown up 12 people with mines.

I haven't been doing good in Warhawk lately. =/ I die a lot....ugh... =/

Was thinking of the Xbox for a moment, but then I thought, what the heck and got the PS3 with COD4 yesterday. Didn't make it to the first 3 lessons in school. colgate.gif

Every time I exit a game, whether thru the in-game menu or the PS Button, after a few seconds, I get an error message that the system was disconnected from the media server, then I get signed out of PSN. I can then sign right back in, and it will stay that way 'til I exit another game. It's not like it's preventing me from going online, just a pain in the arse is all.

 

Anyone else experienced this? Help?

In Call of Duty 4 or Warhawk? COD4 is having some issues right now which IW said they are fixing. As for Warhawk, the game's problems have been fixed so it could be something else?

I haven't had any problems like that so I can't say for sure. I would try using a wired connection to see if its the wireless connection....or try reseting your system settings (its not reformating it, just reseting the settings.)

That's strange. I don't have that problem with media sharing. What software on the PC are you using to share your music/video files with the PS3? I use WMP11.

That's strange. I don't have that problem with media sharing. What software on the PC are you using to share your music/video files with the PS3? I use WMP11.

I forget which update it was that added media sharing, but it gave me that problem. Then I disabled it to fix it. Some people got the problem, and some didn't. It sucks, but barely is a problem. When I want to media share, I can turn it on, and then I turn it off when I dont't want to. I use WMP11, when I do share, but I rarely do. I just use my memory stick.

That cleared it up, thanks. I hardly use the media sharing, so not that big a deal, but still a pain in the arse. I think I'm using WMP10, but don't quote me on that. Maybe I'll upgrade, probably not...

I use tversity, transcoding avis and divx vids worked fine for a while, now it dont sad.gif

 

just hope the rumor of divx + ps3 runs true in the end~

You won't regret it, I was able to get it today.....and I played for an hour until I had to go eat, it's a great game.

 

 

Has anyone switched from the default OS? I keep hearing good things about Linux Yellowdog, but I have next to no experience with (any) Linux.  Would I benefit from a switch...aside from the media sharing thing, I have no complains...ok the themes are a little lame but meh.

You'll need a bigger hard drive for one, if you currently have 60GB or 80GB and it's not really switching OS because you still need to go back to XMB to launch PS3 games.

 

iRloading - It's not a rumor. The support for developers has been added through firmwire 2.0 and users will get it through another firmware upgrade.

True, but you can either make your own, or download them from sites online. I have a nice Jessica Alba theme right now. There are tons of them out already.

anyone else having trouble with COD 4's online?? i keep getting signed out of the psn when i go to online play...it tells me that i need to be signed in to play online which i obviously am signed in...

 

Edit:I guess the PSN network is down for the weekly thursday upgrade....

PSN network is down right now. There is some sort of an outage I think..

I just have two more PS3 games than you, lol. Well, counting Uncharted, that would be three more games as compared to you. I have a lot of games I haven't finished actually (including ones from the PS2), I play them when I can, it takes me a while to finish them though. I still haven't finished Lair, Folklore or GRAW 2 (now that I think about it I maybe shouldn't have bought it but ah well...GRAW that is.) I spend a lot of time at night playing, I sometimes stay up till 3am, lol, which is definitely going to change because its getting hard to get up for classes.

 

Gaming is like my hobby and I always buy the games that I really like and Uncharted happens to be one of them. =D I had to get Assassins Creed because its made by the same team as the Prince of Persia series and so far its good!

 

 

two questions:

 

1. does the psn send a bill to your house by mail if you buy a game online or add funds to your online wallet?

 

2. does the online games only appear on the profile that downloaded it?

 

It gets added to your wallet and they e-mail you the bill or receipt. I use gmail so I save them with a separate tag.

yea true that, i have a few games that shoulda been rentals like COD3 and FEAR, its not that i dont like them i just dont have time for them.
