fwenshy
I purchased a Vita purely for this reason and I can't wait to have GTAV on a handheld whilst I'm in bed or on the toilet or at my parents or when I'm working away in Hotels. I've tested it on Resogun and it's worked pretty well at home and at my parents. This will take the ps4 to the next level for me if this works smoothly. I won't have to talk to anyone again haha. Anyone else going to be doing this? Edited November 13, 2014 by fwenshy

fwenshy
If it runs as well as Resogun then ill be extremely happy. I can't quite imagine gtav on a handheld. I currently play GTA SA on my phone and that's awesome so I can't wait for this. I've just upgraded my phone otherwise I would have got the xperia. To have it attached to an actual ds4 would be amazing. Wonder how well it will work on the xperia??? Only problem I see with that is the ds4 battery life. Unless you can charge it via a standard charger I hope they are both supported Edited November 13, 2014 by fwenshy

fwenshy
Wouldn't have a clue. I know Sony invested heavily in a company to run/support the remote play side of the ps4. I suppose it comes down to servers and stuff (not that I know too much of the technicals) But what I find funny is....Sony invested heavily in this cool feature whilst Microsoft concentrated on "TV on your TV" you have to smile hahahaha thieves

And yeah battery life on DS4 = , Fun though. Edited November 13, 2014 by thieves

serpentofIight
The weird thing is Sony invested heavily in and promoted 3d gaming on ps3, uncharted 3, batman arkham city, motorstorm apocalypse, killzone 3, crysis 3 etc look great on active 3d but not many gamers played in 3d and Sony have pretty much stopped developing and or promoting 3d gaming, shame, if the remote play thing doesn't do well they'll ditch that the same way I'd imagine. Time will tell.
lazloisdavrock
Atleast they gave the PS4 3D support not too long ago. All 7 people who use it can enjoy it. Cant wait for that 4K blu ray support

Anyone else going to be doing this? When I go to visit my parents over christmas, yep, I'll be trying it. It probably won't work great as I'll be literally across the country from my PS4 (the longer the distance the less it works well). But I've done it before and it can work ok (but it was kinda on or off if I could connect). But, I didn't buy my Vita to remote play, it's just a nice extra. Hint: There's a lot of good games for the Vita, don't let that myth of no games make you think you shouldn't check out the stuff you can play on it. It's probably my favorite gaming device right now (and I have a PS2, xbox 360, PS3, PS4,gameboy, Nomad and a Saturn). Andrewine
You guys know remote play must be within a close distance from the PS4 and not far outside? It only works on a home wifi. Edited November 14, 2014 by ChrisFley

Anyone else going to be doing this? I may try it, but remote play is generally pretty useless unless you are truly addicted and can't sacrifice a few minutes of your gametime to let someone else watch the television. I love my vita... but I rarely find the need to use remote play, even if it does work relatively well for 3rd person games. as for the claims that remote play works from miles away. LOL! Yeah... it may work.. for a second.. until it pixelates and the input lag gets so bad that the disconnect symbol just doesn't even bother coming up anymore. Remote play, even when on an incredibly fast wifi (90mbps campus currently) does not work well unless you're using identical wifi networks for both PS4 and PSVita. SammyXNA
So basically, remote play works everywhere as long as you have wifi connection, right? Yeah, works anywhere with a good wifi connection. Sony doesn't recommend using public wifi but it stills works perfectly if you're in the right area. I was playing last of us @ my friends house the other day while taking a dump without any issues. So you could imagine the possibilities with GTA V YESYESYES

Remote play, even when on an incredibly fast wifi (90mbps campus currently) does not work well unless you're using identical wifi networks for both PS4 and PSVita. Maybe in your experience, but get this. Remote play has worked better for me across the country than it does when I'm across the house (I barely ever can get it to work in my bedroom, I sh** you not). I'm not saying it was perfect. Some times it wouldn't work when I was visiting my parents. But sometimes it worked perfectly fine too (though I admit there was some input lag so it wouldn't be good for a game that required total precision. For what I usually do in GTA that's not a big deal. I mostly like to screw around in free roam. And honestly, I was just amazed it even worked from that far away in the first place. It's actually pretty good about refusing connection if it's not good enough to play most games <- I would prefer it drop the connection than try to make it work and have a very frustrating experience). It worked far more often than I've ever gotten it to work in my bedroom though for whatever reason. Yes, you can remote play across the country. But it is very dependant on how well both internet connections (The one your PS4 is on and the one the Vita is on) are doing at the time. Oh, and my PS4 is on wi-fi so there's even that hiccup as well and I have found it is still possible. Edited November 14, 2014 by Tigress
Gdog
Same here. Bought a Vita about a month ago just so I can play V at any time (where there is WiFi). I've spent a lot in preparation for V on PS4. Also upgraded my HD so it's faster and I bought a new TV. Wouldn't bother for any other game. Remote play on vita works flawlessly. The only complaint I have is that the frame rate is horrible. Maybe 20-25fps. Other than that its amazing.

fwenshy
The reason it doesn't work from your bedroom is because whilst at home it connects directly to the ps4. But it will work from anywhere on the planet.
Datguy8925
Man I find it amazing that Sony actually has a cool phone series out ( the z3s...OMG I WANT THAT Z3V) and they don't even have any of the providers or themselves advertise it. But seriously I want that phone just to remote play that sh*t. Edited November 14, 2014 by Datguy8925
Gdog
i don't know how anyone can enjoy remote playing on a touch screen phone. it must be horrible. and it looks awkward as hell using a DS4 with it. the vita is the way to do it and even then you gotta use the back side touch pad to use R2/L1 and R3/L3. you get used to it though.
