Do you think GTA 5 on PC will need ENB mods?

A few cfg and visual tweaks here and there for PC, maybe. But a full overhaul for photo-realism? No thanks.

I can appreciate the artistic style / direction for games.

Well i kinda agree! There's definitely this kind of mystical charm about graphical imperfection! I dunno what it has to do with...I guess real life just can't be adjusted to be either too vibrant or too blurry! LOL

Haha, that's pretty much on point!

Games are meant to be exaggerated / over-exaggerated in some aspects in order to be fun. For example when you shoot someone in GTA V and they rag doll like they've just been hit by buckshot from 3 feet away or the massive blood splatter effects in some cases.. it's to add to the fun of the game.

I know personally if I had full photo-realistic textures I would be getting pissed off because the lighting and particle effects aren't realistic which would make the game look like it's been created with many different artistic styles and would look inconsistent. :p

After watching the leak video of ps4,which looks exactly like ps3 version meh, I lost the last hope for current consols 6576520_700b.jpg

Blind? There is quite a huge difference. You should see the leaked screenshots. And the PC version will look even better.

Certainly not for now.

In a few years maybe, but I'll enjoy the vanilla experience first. Game looks great, but it's a good feeling that there are options to enhance/tweak the visual experience in the future.

GTA V won't need it but I will try it out just to see how close to photo-realistic it can get with mods.

I dislike enb as much as they look good I still prefer vanilla gta iv all the way.

So you prefer your game to look worse?

It's not really fair to compare a screenshot of a heavily modified GTA IV to a badly compressed screenshot from the vanilla game - and to add to that, it looks like the one that captured it was using one of the older patches. This is how the game looks like when you use the latest patch at maxed out settings in [email protected]:

5Ep0WiB.png

The shadows in patch 1.0.6.0 and 1.0.7.0 look much better compared to the ones in patch 1.0.4.0 and older. Not to mention that the brightness, contrast and saturation have a huge impact on the overall presentation of the game. I'm playing IV with the settings I used for the above pic (brightness 30%, contrast 50% and saturation 80%). It's quite colourful when it's sunny, yet still gritty when it's cloudy and rainy, exactly as it should be.

I don't like ENB because, simply put, it ruins the immersion and the atmosphere. No doubt that it's a nice extra, particularly if it actually adds to the atmosphere, but I feel this isn't the case with 95% of the configurations out there.

This all the way. Liberty City isn't meant to be a bright colourful city. It's supposed to be grey and dark to mirror it's story line. Dark and seedy. Plus most ENB mods just add lens flare and super shine and think it's HD.

I'm done with ENBs. Most ENBs that claim to be realistic are not. Most are too bright, too saturated, too dark, or too something. They look good in some places and awful in others. Lens flares aren't realistic, and for the sake of immersion do you really want to feel like you're looking at the game through a camera lens anyways?

Even with Skyrim I only use one mod to increase colour saturation slightly to make the game feel like it actually has some colours. That's all I need, and GTA V doesn't even need that much.

I'm done with car modding too, I used to replace cars in Vice and SA a lot because the original models were sh*tty. Now modern games have excellent models so the need to replace them is gone (unless you just really really want an old Lada with Russian licence plates riding around in California for some reason).

ENB would not be needed but if you want to achieve photorealism then maybe yes, ENB might be required along with texture packs and all that stuff. Remember the texture packs made by LordNeophyte for GTA4? There were several other people contributing to hi-res textures as well. Those were sweet. Modded GTA4 required a lot more than just ENB to achieve photorealism.

The other problem is of course as mentioned by someone else in this thread...ENB does not support DX11. Unless Rockstar release GTAV in some way where it runs on DX9 and optionally DX11, I don't see ENB being possible. The other alternative is convincing Boris, creator of ENB, to add support for DX11 and we can donate towards that. Last option is for someone else to come up with a completely new way to mod the graphics in modern games. SweetFX is good but it is nothing like ENB, not even close.

You're watching on a crappy-quality video of a crappy-quality stream. But everyone can easily distinguish PS4 and PS3 version of V, even from crap videos. You seriously need your eyes checked.

OT: No. I like GTA graphics just the way it is. I don't use IV ENB's, kills the LC atmosphere. Timecyc, however...

I'm totally against IV ENB. ENB completely kills IV atmosphere. It's no longer Vlad insulting yokels and being a fat Russian asswipe, Roman

banging four women in the land of the opportunity and screaming titties, has the best bullsh*t in line ever, Niko being

dramatic and whining and bitching because of his cousing calls him to go bowling, Niko driving Jacob fo' a lickle drive killin blood clots.

Nope. No ENB. The best timecyc IMO is GTA4 Envoirenments 5.

Just f*ck Vlad, Niko and the Vanilla Game, if you wont touch the game in graphical terms, fine. Its just amazing what these Enbs Guys can do with a game. Plus, everyone has an individual option to change the graphics he likes. Whats the problem? Im not playing the game with Niko or play all missions, with the same speech, faces and so on, its boring. And i would not play the game, if there where no Mods and stunning enb, car models etc.

Gta IV was a game from 2008. And it was stunning to play and see it the first time and months. I think V plays in another Universe. There will be no need for enbs etc., in the first couple of months. But then there will be ENBs and people will love them, simply because it gives the Game a new look, doesent matter if its contradicts with the vanilla game. Its just for fun and creativity. Thats all.

Sure, if you're absolutely rubbish at editing it you'll end up with a bad example of ENB.

As I said, I'm going for mods that make the game as close as possible as photo-realistic (I know it's not fully possible, calm your tits), I don't care either way, it's simply for the experience.

It looks good, but the textures are still horrible. I`ll probably download a 2k or 4k texture pack if there will be one.

These moda are created to make a game look better. Since GTA V looks gorgeous already, I'm excited to see what it looks like when it's pushed to its absolute limits (much like GTA IV mods did)

Oh course it's not needed, but why not have it?

Sure GTA V looks great now in 2014, but what about in a couple of years? When GTA IV came out, I'm sure it looked great for it's time but now looks dated. The same thing with Skyrim. Both games looked good in their time, but now with ENBs, it makes them look better than most games coming out now.

If you don't like the look of them, fine. Many people want their games to look the best, pushing their systems to the max.

I don't see the problem with them. Nobody's asking you to use it. I like them, if only for the fact they make for great screenshots and time-lapses and stuff. I'd love to see the same sorta' thing people have been able to do with Skyrim with GTA V.

ENB itself is not that bad. Actually you can even enhance the atmosphere of game by configuring the .ini file correctly.

I don't like enbs with super bright bloom with mirror cars and horrible color correction though. They make my eyes hurt (no offense), it's too bright and colors are so vivid. Not to mention the mirror looking cars. Sadly over 60% of configs are like this.

Well it's your freedom to use it or not anyway so I won't stop you.

For all of those that are saying they're not going to use ENB\Graphical Mods I present you this

I can't believe you really don't see the potential of mods of this kind

Although I do agree that there's a subjective taste to the way things look ,that's completely fine therefore I think this poll is pointless

And for my opinion I think moders are just allowing more options it's up to you if you specifically like it or not
