Lower your expectations

We've all been waiting for heists. Many of us are excited. I'm just afraid that too many of us are expecting heists to be pure, unfiltered awesomeness, the likes of which had never been seen before...

 

...and while I have no doubt that heists will be great, I'm sure that there is no possible way they can meet the lofty expectations of so many gamers.

 

They've been delayed for so long, they HAVE to be incredible, right?

 

Not necessarily.

 

I just don't want people to be flat out disappointed with heists because they don't turn out to be as mind blowing as everyone is expecting.

 

I suggest that everyone lower their expectations. Don't expect heists to be anything more than extra content. That way, it's a win/win - if they turn out to only be decent, you won't be too let down... And if they turn out to be awesome, it will feel that much better.

 

Just some friendly advice.

Many players tend to think to crazy stuff that Rockstar has not announced! And by dint to imagine the impossible, players find themselves disappointed and spit on Rockstar simply because the content did not satisfy their expectations

And remember they will have been delayed for a reason - probably fixing the cracks more than just filling the cup with more awesome.

 

Which means there's a chance they've been scaled back from what was originally proposed too - not that i can really even remember what that was.

 

All I'm expecting is multi stage missions where the outcome of prior sections effect later ones - dynamic play-lists of custom missions. with a cut scene of sorts instead of lobby screen.

Domislive posted a leaked video of a heist. You have to go in a shuttle and land on an asteroid that's heading for Los Santos, and blow it up. If that doesn't happen then I will eat my Playstation, poo it into a jiffy bag and then send said jiffy bag to Rockstar HQ.

Hopefully, the heists actually payout pretty well or give a bunch of RP at this point in GTA:O. Rockstar screwed up once, they cannot fail once again...

all I really care about is being able to rob a bank or whatever with increased difficulty thats it, I dont even care about how much money we get because getting money is so freakin easy in GTA to begin with... but anyway people will always find something to complain about

Concur. I just want to know WHY they're not online. They work in 1 player mode, how logistically difficult is it to import that to online?

I understand that many of you are letting your imaginations run wild, but I'm telling you, you're expecting way, way too much. Rockstar have added some things, increased texture resolution and adjusted a few game play mechanics. That's it. That's all they ever claimed to have done, but of course it was said in marketing speak, so I can totally understand why people might think that this is supposed to be a brand new game.

 

It's not.

 

It still runs on the original architecture, there will still be some low res textures, the AI will be identical, the gameplay itself (except when in first person mode) will be almost identical... the game will look better, play more smoothly, PROBABLY be more fun and enjoyable, but it will still have its faults and we're not getting a treasure trove of new content just yet.

 

Don't forget, Rockstar still plans to release more DLC, and Heists are allegedly coming soon.

 

This will not be GTA 6. I know that's what some of you are expecting from it, but you're wrong.

 

Tone it down a little bit and you might not end up as disappointed on Tuesday.
