Let's be honest, GTA Online on PS3 and Xbox 360 was basically a massive BETA.

 

This WAS R*'s plan all along. All they did was feed us scraps in the meantime so it would look like they're doing something. In reality if we look at it objectively most DLC's seem to be the brain child of a brain fart and most if not all 'new' content is re-skinned or based off something else.

 

People are saying "back in the day you used to pay money and play a game...then play more money for updates...R* are giving it to us for free..you're all self entitled punks "... well my friends, 'back in the day' they had a substantive game to begin with.

 

Online aside, the hungry caterpillar has more captivating story line than GTA V story mode. I remember completing GTA Sanandreas and GTA IV and actually feeling like I had been on a journey. Those were proper games!

 

If anyone has watched the South Park Episode 'Freemium' it perfectly sums up what R* has done.

 

Back on topic however, heists were promised on three separate occasions NOT including them using it prior to the online as a major reason to be excited about online. More than a year after release they're still not here. I don't really care tbh, but it's the principle. Don't advertise something if you're not going to provide it.

 

It's like hosting a football match (soccer game) and turning up with everything but a football. R* have done this. They've told you that there will be a football match. You've all turned up. Now they've said to you..."err...ok guys we don't have a ball...it will be here SOON but it's all good...because until then, we have kits, boots, goal posts, nets and grass..."

 

Wtf is the end game? Just wear the kit and admire the pitch which can't be played on?

 

All things in perspective I don't really care what happens. I'm a casual gamer so when it comes down to it this hasn't got any bearing on my life. But I thought I'd just share.

In addition to the above. We all remember how bad the online launch was for PS3/XB306. I seriously wouldn't transfer my character until the start of January.

 

I can already see the hundreds of threads on here "JUST LOST MY CHARCTER AFTER TRANSFER" "HOW CAN I GET MY CHARACTER BACK" "FCCKK U ROCKSTARRR" etc.

 

It might not be as bad as that since they cut their teeth during the shambles which was GTA Offline October 2013 but then again these are the same people who got a Carbinonazzare and a Rapid GT to have bum smex and sold it to millions as an amazing new addition that we have all been craving. I.e anything is possible.

Still amazes me people call this game a beta. And if it was i will gladly pay for the next one.

When I say 'beta' I'm referring to it as being a BETA for the next gen launch. It was never meant to be a finished product on PS3/XB360. The whole of this year gone by has been a R&D for them.

Good opening point. I'd go along with that too however I don't believe they would be so naive as to not entertain the idea of an Online version after the amount of people who played and enjoyed the basic online version of IV.

Only point I don't agree with you on. Firstly it's awesome you watch South Park...unless Freemium is a term you learned from else where. But I'll tell you why I think it is Freemium. They've provided very basic missions, which let's be honest, only about five are fun to play. All the other fun, for me anyway, comes from content you have to purchase with in game cash. So in this sense, the basic game is just about enjoyable to play but not enough for you to feel as if you don't need the other stuff. Other Stuff being cars, helis, planes etc. Now you can grind and get the money to pay for them in a month, or buy a shark card and instantly purchase items which make the game more enjoyable in a minute. In this way, I do believe they are leaning towards freemium a lot more than they were in previous games. Everyone is doing it now, and there are other companies which are much worse but it doesn't make it ok.

 

I tell you, if I hadn't glitched millions or bought ALOT of stuff in the Billionaire days, I would of put the game away a long time ago. Just because I'm not willing to pay for micro transactions. And just like in the SP episode, only a small proportion of the community actually pay anyway xD

Freemium is not from South Park, it's an already existing term that has been in use for years. It means basically what it does in the South park episode though. GTAO is not freemium because it isn't free. you cannot get ot for free. You had to pay for it. If you had to pay for it is not Freemium.

NO ONE has to buy cash cards. In fact there is not a single thing in the game that requires you to buy a cash card. There is nothing in the game that a cash card gets you except instant gratification. Basically cash cards are for impatient gamers whould rather pay for something than earn it, and in the end they have the same item and less cash in their wallets
