Digital or Disc?

323 members have voted

  1. 1. Which version will you get?

Will you be going classic and going with the disc, or will you go digital? Im personally going to go digital so i can have it ready by the 18th. Not only that but It eliminates the risk of the disc breaking/scratching since its digital! So, which way will you go and why? :beerhat:

Im getting a physical copy. For starters the physical copy is a lot cheaper than the digital copy for some stupid reason here in Aus. Secondly it will allow me to take the game and use it on another console with no issues. Thirdly I can't trade in digital copies at a later stage.

If a digital copy was available at a decent price I would probably consider it however.

I have always purchased the disc but I'm debating whether I should go digital this time around.

They shouldnt charge more for digital, thats stupid. Here in the U.S its the same as a disc copy.

Not a fan of revokable digital licenses. I like to own my copy of my game, not pay for a right to use it. Steam exists for that.

The day that physical media leaves the console space, so do I.

You dont need to tell me. I think if anything there should be a discount for digital copies. There is no production or shipping costs so it should be cheaper IMO. Maybe only slightly but at least offer some incentive for going digital. We seemed to get screwed when it comes to gaming here in Aus.

While i would like to have the ability to play the game without having to insert the disc, i preordered the disc version at BB because that was the only way i could trade in my 360 copy towards it and get a decent amount ($21).

Oh let me see. I can buy the disc for ps4 at a discount games shop for 80 AUD which gives me a printed blueray disc with a 100 year lifespan a cover and a map which fully installs to the drive and has a resale value. Or a digital download which is nothing but numbers on a drive for 100 AUD.. I'm not completely stupid Sony.

Disc. Less issues at launch, usually less bugs and faster load times, and if you want to sell it you can.

Uhh.. I got both ( smh.. )

My wife pre-ordered it (physical copy) trying to surprise me because I kept buggn' about how it wasn't on the XBOX ONE marketplace to download, but they had it promoted all over the 360 dashboard for a physical copy via retailer..

(keep in mind she still hasn't told me she did this)

I finally see it pop up yesterday when I checked it and IMMEDIATELY purchased it and went to tell my wife they finally put it up, she pulls out her iPhone and shows me the receipt for the game....

* it was at this moment, my wife knew..... she fu*ked up *

Disc.

The one time I got digital (gta IV), it took hours to download and still ended up getting 'corrupted' over time. Could be an issue with my hard drive, still, never doing that again.

Haha, true..

I also passed word around to a few of my buddies I know aren't getting their next gen console until

later next week. So, I just told them I'm selling it for the "hommie lookout price" of $30..

But if no one buys it, fu*k it I'll buy a next-gen poster, frame it and put the game in their with it *shrugs haha..*

as a reminder in the future of how bad I wanted a fu*king video game lol!

You can purchase it now, pre download it.. and have it ready to go at 12:01.. I have 13 games for xbox one ( all digital )

Not one problem. Digital is the way to go with next gen, trust me on that.

Considering that GTAV will likely make you download the disc content to your hard drive anyway... Digital.

Also to the people saying that bought GTAIV on digital and it took forever blah blah blah... wake up, that sh*t was like 10 years ago. Hopefully you've upgraded your internet connection since then.

She sounds like a keeper dude... :^: As much as I love my missus she made me jump through hoops to buy GTA again. She did save me $40 on the purchase price. EB had it for $100 and I had it preordered but a local retailer had it advertised for $60. She pointed it out to me and EB price matched.

Doesn't really matter does it? It's going to be installed to the hard drive either way.
