Simply Logic
why does your character lock-on to opponents you try to attack during a fight in free aim.
§†range
Sounds like a glitch. I'm going to ask the obvious but make sure your setting are set to free aim? Try going to Traditional aim then back to free aim if it is glitched it should correct itself.

§†range
idk bro, never had this issue. I just know that Auto has glitched into free aim before. the fix was switching to traditional and then back again.
Ph03nixxxx
I think if you're in a team deathmatch in autoaim and then come out into a freeaim session it can sometimes glitch you so that you're auto in freeaim. Dealt with one of these asshats the other day who clearly was relishing in his 'power' over the rest of us... ha. He was damned useless when out of autoaim range.
