Why is everyone jumping on the "they would just be killed off" train? Yeah sure we've had two protagonists get killed, and one of them wasn't even designed as a protagonist when he was written.

 

Just because Johnny K was killed doesn't mean everyone has to be utter idiots and blow everything out of proportion.

One character I wanted to see more of after finishing his game was Johnny from TLaD. Not because I liked him all that much (I didn't) but the character had so much potential for development and backstory. Plus, well, bikes. But of course they completely f*cked that up in the next game.

 

Niko would be interesting but he's been through a lot and I'd just let him retire.

 

Michael also has some potential which I think wasn't used at all. He is an interesting character in concept. I'd like to see him solve some actual problems, not just whine all the time. Or maybe he could return to some actual gangster stuff like a regular mafia boss. But it would probably make more sense to just create a new such character from scratch.

 

I don't care for 3D era protags though I won't be surprised if CJ pops up someday.

he would be toned down in his personality, with hair, less confident and more human, i'm really interested in his background and life with Michael before the events of V, Niko in a prequel would be cool too, in the balkan wars or something, a snow covered map made up of country side and european cars to steal.

Too true. Knowing how Johnny was brought back Niko would probably be addled on speed, or something similar.

I don't want Niko back. His story should end the way it did; Kate dying him helping Roman with his family.

I would love a game involving Trevor. I'd like to know what he was up too after North Yankton and maybe have some post-V stuff too involving his business and clearing out Blaine County of the other gangs.

I wouldn't really want to see any protagonists come back for a cameo, although I feel that a prequel DLC focusing on Trevor and Michael in North Yankton would be good. If not that, then maybe one focusing on Franklin and Lamar before V.

Luis and Claude, odd choices maybe.

 

Luis because I feel like he was practically disposable already- not "into the trash," but like... not even a protagonist, someone to be used rather than played. Most of his gameplay revolved around backstory that happened to fit him into a role in the story. This is true of most video game characters' backstories, but his was especially moldable and I feel like it wouldn't even make a difference if he happened to be an NPC or not. He was plastic and is easily divorced from player identity imo.

 

Claude because the lulz of him having a speaking role in a future game would outweigh any damage R* could potentially do. Gilbert Gottfried should voice him.

Also, I just can't see Niko anywhere else except for Liberty City. It suits him too well. That being said, Niko in Carcer City would be interesting.

Before I give my opinion: why is Tommy and CJ on the poll? Seriously, move on OP: the 3D era is over, old 3D characters can't comeback now into the HD universe.

 

OT; I would love to see Niko. Think about it: the next game we go to LC for something, meet Niko and he gives the protagonist advice or some sh*t. Just to see Niko Bellic again, man...
