Returning Character

I would definitely be okay with a returning protagonist, most likely Niko. You can make the argument that his story is finished since he killed the man he was hunting but they could always show us his modern life, or even his life prior to the events of GTA IV if Rockstar so warrants. This entire poll is being conducted under the assumption that Rockstar could get the voice actors to return and all the pieces fit right.

Not trying to be a fanboy, but there was a rumor some time ago that Shawn 'Solo' Fonteno(who mo-capped Franklin) was actually Young Malay's(CJ's voice actor) cousin and they were working together on a project. So if anybody returns, it'll be CJ.

As much as I'd cream in my pants if Niko and/or Tommy came back I don't think it would be the same since both Michael Hollick and Ray Liotta left on bad terms with R* and as such are unlikely to do the voice work again.

 

Of all the rest I'd like to see Franklin come back as he often felt way under-utilised in GTA V. He needs a much bigger role IMO.

Did they leave on bad terms? I thought they were just unhappy with the amount of money R* was willing to shell out with royalties. Ray Liotta was asked in a recent AMA on Reddit if he'd be interested in playing Tommy in a film if anything like it were to come up and he seemed pretty happy about R* and Vice City then. Hollick I think you might be right about.

I suppose Franklin, before or after V, so they could develop his character a little (a lot). I'd hate it if Niko came back though, he's my favorite protag and his story should be left as it is. I couldn't play a game in which they spoiled his character in any way!

I would like the story DLC or even an own spinoff to tell the story of the uprising of the Forum Gangsters in an alternative universe where Franklin didn't meet Micheal. It could even have the older CJ in it, or other characters we know from old times. <3

I believe in the Universe thing, so no Tommy, Claude, or CJ for the newest GTA game. They are long time dead, in the sense of GTA. They won't return, they are not canon to the universe of GTA4/5.

Yeah, a cameo appearance would be cool. Niko, his wife, a kid (possibly), and Roman with his family living in Alderney in a big house.

You should've at least included Johnny in the list too. I'd be very interested in seeing what happened between TLaD and GTAV (or even earlier, remember his I Rode Mine Los Santos 2005 patch?). That being said, Niko is my second choice.

While Ray Liotta did say a bunch of bullsh*t such as "I had no idea the game was what it was, I have kids! etc etc", and the fact that Rockstar stopped hiring famous famous actors basically because of him, judging by that Reddit thing he's not doing anything of note anymore so of course he'd jump at the chance to be in the spotlight knowing how big of a fanbase GTA and Vice City has.

 

On the subject of Michael Hollick, while the whole 'asking for money fiasco' did happen according to the media (it was mostly Michael said "If I had known how much money the game made I would've asked for a bit more.") from what I've gathered here on the forums Lazlow said something about Michael and them still being on good terms and that whole issue was blown out of proportion by the media. Michael Hollick has done work for Rockstar in motion capture since the release of GTAIV. At least that's what I've heard myself, don't really have a 100% confirmation on that. Just like there's no 100% confirmation that R* and Michael had a falling out.

Don`t call the devil. Believe me you`d be so disapointed if your fav protag would reappear in the next game since they`d probably screwed him up like they did Johnny or even worse.

I`ll try to find a link from Kotaku when some moron made a proposition concept for GTA VI and sent it to R*.

He made up this main protagonists named Larry who is the air force pilot in Fort Zancudo.The map is set in 2014 and in SA again Anyway in some mission Packie and Niko, reunited again brake into the base and Larry with his fellow soldiers caught them and kill them both with his bare hands.

 

The worst part is that the concept was accepted as one of the best. Let`s just hope it wont happen. I`ll try to find a link.

 

Personally, i like to have the old GTA protags in good memories, i don`t want them too see all f*cked up, so let them rest in peace.
