First person or third person?

I wish 3rd person view didn't tilt up when you fire a weapon, it's so bloody annoying because the spot where you eventually end up firing at isn't always exactly the same originating spot on your screen because it depends if you're on foot or in a car or looking backwards in a car etc.

 

Seriously why the hell did they do that?!.

Well I'm definately driving in first person. On foot and during combat I'll stick to third, so yeah, you know what I voted for.

Given I have completed the Story Mode 2x already and intend to do it again, I am leaning towards trying to do as much as possible in First Person.

 

Also as I know my way around from playing Online so much, I might even explore in First Person with no Radar or HUD for an as immersive experience as possible.

I've seen a lot of Los Santos and the surrounding area from third-person. I'll be exclusively in first-person for a while. Gotta appreciate the new textures and old details the way they were intended.

First person for shooting will actually make free aim a viable option for me now. The current 3rd person aiming system is clunky as hell and too much of a hassle for me to attempt free aim.

Driving - third person - so i can see more around me

 

Walking etc -third person - same reason. Maybe occasional 1st person if not in a mission etc

 

Combat - 1st person - obvious reasons

ok, trying to stay on topic i just wanna clear up where 1st and 3rd person view come from and what it really means.

 

as i saw on another fun thread about a "2nd person view" (which is already locked, so it cannot be cleared up there anymore), most of the people who posted there obviously didn't get that it was just a joke from the op and there is no such thing as a 2nd person view in games, books, or movies.

for games, books, or movies there is only 1st or 3rd person view possible (or at least commonly used)!

"2nd person view" is not the view through the eyes of a second person (this would be 3rd person view)!

 

it comes from the 6 cases of grammar of language:

 

singular cases:

1st person: i

2nd person: you

3rd person: he, she, or it

plural:

4th person: we

5th person: you (many, opposite group)

6th person: they

 

2nd person view, if it was possible, would be like that you see yourself / the player from the opposite site and you would have to steer the opposite player character like in a mirror with opposite moving directions.

 

to be directly back on topic, i prefer 3rd person for driving and mostly roaming around and 1st person only for combat situations.

but i would vary this sometimes just to get some variety in the game.

I'll be sticking to tp on foot as I prefer the larger fov. I'll be using fp for driving and flying.

GTA has always been a third person game. I think this first person is ok as long as its optional. I just hope rockstar don't turn it into a cod where it will only be first person games.
