Ss4gogeta0 Posted November 12, 2014 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Im sure not that many people have heard about CODOL. it is a game developed by activision in 2011 as a way of trying out the free to play business model (much like EA's Battlefield Play 4 Free). It was only released in china through a partnership with Tencent (QQ) as part of a nationwide Beta test (although people in other reigons have been successful in gaining access to the Free to play game... Including me ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hELjLBCEEZw This game seems to be based on the MW2 engine and has been added with various features from other call of duty games... - Black Ops 2's Pistol Sights - MW3's Bouncing Bettys - Various weapons from each game - Various maps from each game One of the most interesting things is the Zombie mode that is featured... Instead of fighting against Nazi Zombies, you get to battle against Nazi Cyborg Zombies.. Yes, You heard me right... ROBOTIC NAZI ZOMBIES!!!! Their zombies mode is far more expansive than what we have seen in a normal call of duty release... There are your basic 6 man survival modes... then you have Dead Rising mode where you run around completing objectives while battling Robotic Zombies aswell as Robotic Zombie Dogs, A Terminator, An Alien Mothership (takes many hits to kill), and so on and so forth... also Perks are not bought in Cola machines, they are found as random drops in baggies... also they have included the MW3's Survival Boxes so you can buy weapons and kill streaks to use on zombies... oh also, MW3's survival mode is included in the game aswell... the game itself is only around 3.5 Gigs. It runs fairly smooth and features a full campaign... Its a hash up of MW's full campaign except through the eyes of someone else (Dont know the name due to the chinese)... the game boots into a remake of COD 4's tanker mission. which is rather fun... then it goes into a modified version of the weapons course from MW1 and finally the obstacle course from MW2... The controls are your standard Keyboard controls (I do not believe controller is supported although I might be wrong) You can edit the controls but good luck understanding the Chinese... Microtransactions are avaliable I assume, although they are not forced and you can earn everything through leveling up. Attachments are unlocked by leveling up your gun (similar to MW3/BO2. Trust me, there are ALOT of attachments ranging from stocks to barrels I believe)... and Perks aswell as guns are obtained in a system similar to Black Ops 1 (You have to buy them with ingame currency, which is really not that hard to gain.) Character customization is similar to CoD Ghosts (you can buy clothing and new skins using ingame cash after you unlock them by leveling up). I have yet to be asked for a credit card (and even if I do get asked, I doubt I can understand it)... All in all this game is a rather good game... much better than the same crap thats been getting pushed out here states side... Games like Blacklight Retribution/Team Fortress/etc are good F2P games because the focus isn't primarily on the money and everything is balanced for better or worse... this game is balanced as well and has enough features and differences to make it far more entertaining than the console call of duties... besides, its developed by TENCENT games. not Treyarch, not Sledgehammer Games, not any of those other developers... so it is an inherently different game than any of the other call of duties... so get rid of your childish "all call of duty games are the same" mindset because that argument is not valid here... No milk either I was more depressed than angry, I am actually a very passive person thanks to about a decade of ritalin. so learn more about the person you are talking to before you try to troll... Also I am lactose Intolerant. and 22 years old. I have wanted this for a long time, shame it is only in China. The only COD(s) I ever play now is Black Ops 1 and MW2. Now now...
