I was totally there yesterday on the other side on the beach thinking someone missed a trick there putting that fence all the way along the walkway - it needs a car sized gap so you can jump the other way - it already has the ramp gradient going up to it.

So lets try to figure out what each option does

Heritage, so it seems as if the parent / grandparent system is still in but who knows to what extent it matters?

 

features means facial features i would guess? the question is how extensively can you modify the base model you got from the heritage system. I am hoping that it can be modified to look nothing like the original, including head shape, jaw width etc as opposed to jsut changing eyes and maybe nose and what not.

 

Appearance could be... idk what exactly the difference between that and features would be, maybe appearance is body modification? I mean there just happens to be a measuring point behind him, lets hope its more than a simple prop!

 

Apparel is obvious

 

finally stats, i know they said you could "downgrade" in the IGN preview, but the question is why you would want to? Maybe they changed the system?

Ohh cheeky! Maybe a bit risky, I could see myself splatting hard against that rock and my bike jumping without me - I can see why you have a practice race.

This is my take on the whole transfer issue as well... your saves will still exist on last gen, they will just copy them over to the platform of your choice, with a bit of code fidling to make em compatible of course..

It all depends I guess how far they have taken the creator...

 

If its just a better face morph toolset added eybrows scars and better colors then last gen should defo be able to get the full updated creator...

 

If on the other hand they have added body customization then this changes the goal posts a lot!

 

To do this then all clothing in game would need vastly more complicated collision detection to cope with different body masses..

 

This isnt such a huge issues in pga tour golf with very limited clothing (mostly is just different colors) and even more limited player movement...

 

So basicly if we have customisable body mass of any kind then doupt last gen will get the full update on the creator, thats my guess anyway...
