lol at all these people talking about currency rates and not how Microsoft are scammers

Bought my physical V in during vacation in Bangkok last year and took it back to the US. It was R3 (BLASxxxxx)

Was about 1,550B$ - around $45 USD.

Surely you pay what it costs in your country, not what it costs in another.

Tell me about it, Alien Isolation from online stores (physical copy) has been reduced to £25 yet its still £54.99 from the xbox store! and £40-£45 in stores.

Well, it kinda makes sense ya know? It's like, going to WalMart in America when you live in New England.

So basically when you were buying off the US store, you were cheating because everyone else in that country had to pay $90. You should feel lucky it was even on there for a year.

Man and I thought games were expensie, I had no idea it costs this much more in Europen countries.

Since the last update on the Xbox One. Users can no longer use the US store from other countries. for me this results in having to pay 90$ for a digital version of GTAV, instead of the 60$ in the US store.

There is absolutely no justification whatsoever for this rip-off, since there are no country-specific delivery costs, nor any other personnel costs.

So, i'm interested, how much more are you expected to pay in your countries? And do you feel this is in any way justified?

No such update. You just dont know how to change the settings.

Change the system language first and then country and region will be available in the list.

It'll be available in Aus for $64 (PS4 and XB1) from Big W.

http://www.bigw.com.au/bigw-catalogues.html#view=catalogue2&saleId=7489&page=11

On the general point, the old saying goes "charge what the market will bear". People keep paying these marked up prices so of course companies continue to charge this way. If you feel the digital downloads are too costly, don't buy them. Similar with physical copy prices, buy from the cheapest.

Vote with your money people.

GTA V PS4 is about Rp 660.000 (US$ 55). V X1 is about Rp 750.000 (US$ 63). Last gen versions are quite cheap though, Rp 400.000 (US$ 33).

Depends on the game region.

Here's some example based on PlayStation's game region codes.

R1 (North America) is typically the most expensive. And then there's R2 (Europe and Japan). R3 (SE Asia) is probably the cheapest.

I can just tell OP must be Australian. There's a lot of ripoffs going on in the land down under when it comes to video games.

i've often thought that countries with small things that cost "thousands" should just knock a zero off or something.

i know thats completely stupid and not how it works but i'd still like it

easy fixes:

buy a physical copy

get a friend from the us to send one to you

give a friend from the us your password and have them download it over there for you

immigrate to the us (not too easy now that i think about it)

Now I'm no corporate fat cat but surely they should be encouraging people to buy digital copies with a better price tag, considering you can't sell them on afterwards?

If everyone had to buy digital, no-one is gonna be able to pick the game up second hand.

Weird. Guess they think we just aren't ready yet.

  • Buy Game
  • Turn on xbox and install GTA V

What i paid for is half my usual barbecue spending

I don't like that post. Don't get me wrong - I don't dislike it either. I just have no feelings either way with regards to what you spend when you have a barbecue.

However, I did click "Like This" because of your signature. And here it is for future generations, QFT...

GTAV has seen many "eras". This one should be called "The Whiney Little Bitch Era" :p

I'm paying 60€ (74$) for a physical copy and it will be delivered to my doorstep on release day for free.

- Slovenia (Europe)

Also, just curious. You can no longer buy it on the XBOX Store, but is it possible on the Playstation Store? Not intended for a console war just asking.

Buy an US Xbox one then? Shouldn't be much of a problem. Just order one from Ebay.

don't think so. psn store region and currency are tied with your psn account's region, which cannot be changed simply in menus.

Gentlemen, just imagine frustration in Russia: national currency here has dropped almost 40% to US dollar. So, basically, we're paying more for the same. No matter where will we buy the game, the result is the same: the euro is more expensive for us and the dollar too.

well, from what i read on other forums, the update was on the 8th or 9th, depending on where you're at. maybe you got lucky there, or i don't know what, but from everyone i know who used the US store before i heard nothing but that they aren't able to use it anymore (except of course through proxies, as someone mentioned above).

And sorry if i came at you a bit harsh there, it was a silly reaction to your implication that i was too stupid to know about language/locale changing.
