I'm supposed to pay 50% more for GTAV cause i'm not American

Since the last update on the Xbox One. Users can no longer use the US store from other countries. for me this results in having to pay 90$ for a digital version of GTAV, instead of the 60$ in the US store.

There is absolutely no justification whatsoever for this rip-off, since there are no country-specific delivery costs, nor any other personnel costs.

So, i'm interested, how much more are you expected to pay in your countries? And do you feel this is in any way justified?

In England I paid £50 for a physical copy, which is $79.65, but everything is more expensive here.

In New Zealand I have to pay $90 for a physical copy plus shipping costs. It's not worth it to buy digital copies anymore.

Same back when GTA V came out last year I had to pay $110 for the special edition here in aus (the standard game was $100). Hell I'm going to be spending $70 on the PS3 version of Far Cry 4 next week.

yeah, i just want a digital one because i hate discs getting scratched and sh*t, even if you are extra careful it happens from time to time.

It is really that much of an issue (purchasing a digital version in-case the disc gets scratched) - maybe I have just been lucky, but I have never had a fault disk in my 18 odd years of purchasing video games.

Do digital copies cost more because of the convenience of not having to travel to store or wait for a delivery?

It's £44 in the UK for a physical version, which is around $70

it's 55 pounds in the Live Store, which is about 85$

f*ck me! The higher cost is probably to do with the nice weather you have there, like paying more for a house with a nice view lol!.....

They really need to sort out digital pricing its a friggin rip off....

How can uploading data to server for DL cost more than making a physical copy and distributing it to retailers? It makes no sense and is simply out of order..

I payed £44 for gta pre order off amazon.... that includes R* cut/manufacture of the disk/box/sleave and delivery to amazon and me...

Its £60 on digital download!! Work that out!!..... does my head head in, I wantedmall my games digital on current gen as its just more convenient, but dear god...

And as for the US / canada bullsh*t..... I duno...... I feel sorry for you Canadians, utter crap..

In Germany I paid 64,99 Euro for my Xbox 360 copy last year, which is almost $81.

I guess for the PS4 version I'll have to pay 65-70 Euro.

It is a re-occurring issue and then for example companies like Foxtel in Australia (paid Cable-TV, we have Free channels also) wonder why Australia manages to have over 1 million Downloads for Game of Throne Episodes...Video game costs are more interesting also since you can get the Consoles themselves for a near comparable price after currency conversion, yet Digital Downloads for games can not be price matched.

On the plus side, the PS4 is relatively cheap for its overall hardware performance compared to similar priced PC Hardware performance.

Edit: GTA V Digital Download from AUS PS Store was $109.95 AUD last time I noticed it!!!

I've been opposed to digital copies of games since they started. Thankfully the greed that is the games industry have helped me a lot by overpricing them. As gizz01 says; what sence does it make that a copy of a copy with no physical presence costs MORE than that of a game disc, cover, sleeve, booklet and all the rest!?

GTA (and okay, Shadow of Mordor too) are the only games I've paid full price for in years. Generally I just wait for the things I want to reach a sensible price before buying.

That's ridiculous..

Its just printing money...

I dono maybe governments put a high tax on digital DL or somthing so digital doesnt kill physical manufacturers and the connecting jobs.... I duno im plucking at straws here, all I know its daylight robbery...

Depends where you decide to purchase the game from.

In Australia you can pre-order GTA V for anywhere between $70 to $100 (!!). While it is ridiculous and sucks that we have to pay a lot more than the US for an identical product, it is understandable when you consider other factors (ie. wages).

Ha. I prefer buying discs anyway. My gaming collection is enormous and even with 1tb hard drives, with games reaching 20gb in size, it doesn't go far.

Buying new also means I don't have to wait, get preorder bonuses, am covered by warranty... The pros outweigh the cons 99% of the time so usually it's worth the extra.
