I have always wanted to create a singleplayer mod for a game I imagined it differently. The fact is, gangs never stopped fighting each other for territory and money in Southern California. Although Grand Theft Auto V has many gangs (which will make our jobs easier), they are not significant in the storyline of the game.

You are member of a gang that is failing to survive. You and your gang members are running short on cash, and need to do something quickly before everything fails apart. *

This is a singleplayer mod with a new storyline. There are currently total of main 35 missions planned. Here are things you can do with this mod:
  • Start Turf Wars and take over territories (Just like San Andreas)
  • Run errands for your gang leaders and earn cash.
  • Ask your leaders for permissions to take over enemy territories.
  • Move up the ranks and become the leader yourself (after finishing the storyline).
  • As a leader, recruit up to 10 gang members to follow you and help you with your missions.
  • As a leader, order your gang members to take over territories without your presence.
  • As a leader, mange your economy and pay people to join your gang.
  • As a leader, pay your members weekly to keep them happy.
  • Create alliances and declare wars on those you need to eliminate.
  • More will be added.

  • Much of the game options and the decisions will be made on the phone. For example, as a soldier in a gang, you are not allowed to take any leadership decisions. However, as you progress in y our gang to move up the ranks, you will be able to suggest which territory to take and gave a reason why. If your leader is convinced, he will give you green light to take over the wanted territory. If your gang is not at war with another gang that you want to take the territory from, the options for suggestions will be locked as the two gangs are either at truce or peace.
  • Running errands will earn you money. Small jobs such as robbing liquor stores will actually matter in this mod. Money is scares, and you need it for your personal interests (buy weapons, replenish your health, pay members to follow you and help you on missions...etc)
  • Moving up in ranks will happen as your progress through the story.
  • The fun starts when you finish the entire story. You will be the leader of your gang, and you have to make crucial decisions. Taking over territories will give your power and money; therefore, all the interests and profits from that neighborhood comes directly to you. However, you will also need to pay your members to keep earning the interest, and you need to keep them happy so they would stay in your gang. You can also order your gang members to take over certain territories without your presence, however, doing so will cause more casualties in your numbers because they do not have their leader to keep them motivated. More casualties means you need to hire new people, which would cost a lot of money.
  • You will also have an advisor, that you can phone anytime to communicate with other gangs through her. Declare war on them, ask for truce, ask for peace. Most of the time, they will ask you to pay them to stop attacking your territories.
  • Other alliances will also try to take over your territories, and the AI will take over each other's territories. Even if the enemy territory has no more territories, they will regroup and try to take over your weakest territory.

There are gangs that will be part of the storyline. There are those that will not be featured in the storyline, but will still be part of the gang war over territories, power, and money in Los Santos.

  • Ballas (featured in storyline)
  • Vagos
  • Aztecas
  • Rednecks (featured in storyline)
  • Armenian Mob (featured in storyline)

  • Merryweather Security
  • Triads

This is currently sketch-up but we are looking to have this ready by May of 2015. Much of the work will be done on the newly created AI system that will have dynamic events and behave on its own. All the animations and character models have already been created by Rockstar; we will put those to use. The main character will be created from scratch, and so will the advisor of the gang. Much of the voice acting will be done as a phone conversation (since that is where the most of the game happens anyway). We are open to suggestions and feedback (through GTAForums private messages only). There are currently 3 people working on this project. We are Computer Science students, and therefore, this would be great on our portfolio. Plus, we like the Grand Theft Auto series, and would love to contribute to it.

sounds interesting and ambitious! will there be random crime between rival gangs?

I mean the rival gangs behave on their own when it comes to attacking your territory and trying to take over it. Can you explain more what you mean about random crime? Do you mean like random events that happen now in GTA V?

Yes and no. Most of the features are half integrated, we are going to re-use most of the scripts used by Rockstar. The only challange here is the turf war, and that, we have SA to look, so I think it's doable by May.

like random drive bys or shootouts between rival gangs at turf borders. Not like now where you see ballas and families standing nearby like they are best friends.

Yeah I know what you mean. Rockstar has that integrated in their capture creator: where two gang members from the same gang would not attack each other, but they would if they see a rival/strange gang member. We are just going to re-use that script tbh.

Considering their last post on this was nearly a year ago, it's almost certainly been abandoned.
