Last year, it was close between GTA V and the Last of Us, but gaming websites generally picked GTA V for GoTY 2013. It obviously wasn't a consensus pick though, it was pretty close between the two. This year however, there are a few more contenders, including Far Cry 4 and the Crew (I'm sure there's a few more). GTA V next gen is going to have a lot of new features, could they make it a contender for Game of the Year 2014? I think so, it's going to feel very fresh with first person view and the updated details and graphics. This game can definitely rival the likes of Far Cry and the Crew. I'm not sure GTA V can win it though just because the last gen version came out last year. Can it win? I'm pretty sure GTA V can't qualify for it since its not technically a "New" game.
