Mirror Park Appreciation Thread

Mirror Park is one of my favorite neighborhoods in GTA 5, excluding the rural towns. I dunno why I like it so much. Maybe because it's so suburban-ey or something? Maybe because it's got a nice little park? Who knows. Either way, it's my favorite neighborhood in Los Santos. Even though it's of little significance in the game, Rockstar went the extra mile or two to make it really feel like a suburb, something I feel as though GTA 5 was lacking. From the LTD station up north you can fill up at and get food and sh*t to that 2-story strip mall that looks just like the one out of "Tom Goes to the Mayor", Mirror Park has something for everyone. Every time I come here, I get nostalgic feels and reminded back to times when I lived up north in the suburbs right outside of Washington DC, all those houses. All those houses, just over, and over, and over again. Suburbia.

Who here likes Mirror Park? Come on in, appreciate it!

I have to agree with you on that. Surprisingly they lacked a bit on the city and suburb areas. If I'm not mistaken it's one of the only suburb areas in the game.

I f*cking love Mirror Park. Like East Vinewood, it's just a cool place. It's somewhat isolated too, as it's in the northeast part of Los Santos, the place in between the rest of the city and huge-ass mountains.

It's a shame, really, that most of the time the neighborhood is simply driven through by players on their way to El Burro Heights or Vinewood. They miss out.

It seems like somewhere I would live, one of the reasons being that where I grew up, it was houses, houses everywhere; literally row after row of houses. I also like the shape of Mirror Park.

I could go on.

Yep, it's the only one. I guess you could count the part that Lester lives in, but then again, it's bordering on "slum" classification.

@N4TE - Only that one rampage. In regular free roam, they don't bat an eye.

It's a nice area in the game. I always like to take a jog with either Michael or Franklin in the mornings especially around the park. I love that park sometimes I wish they could allow you to sit, make the water fountains functional or maybe using the phone to listen to the ingame music while you jog. I also think that the park is a throwback to Glen Park in SA.

I agree. I love mirror park. Something about it is just nice, I hardly ever murder people in that area.

The hipsters ruin it

I'm guessing that N4TE is referring to how Mirror Park is based on the real Echo Park, and people might say the same thing about real hipsters there.

The neighbourhood and the radio station are both excellent. I like taking photos in Mirror park, and I even recreated one of the old screenshots R* released back when we were all hungry for info.

Mirror Park and Chumash have incredible detail and variety if you actually take the time to explore on foot or at least slowly in a car haha

it's so easy to ignore because there's so little content there and it's mostly peaceful but they're very well done

Love Mirror Park. I've been making races around there in the creator but I often just end up wandering around the area.

^GTAO is such a great way to appreciate some of these areas more

every time I'm exploring the industrial areas in east LS, random factories, farms, grain elevators, storage lots, warehouses, loading docks, etc around the map I am always thinking to myself...

wow this place is amazing and there is just nooooothing to do here... god I wish I could quickly and seamlessly deathmatch here

if loading times on PS4 are vastly improved for PS4, I think it's going to do wonders for casual races and DMs because right now have the reason they're not super popular is because they're a pain

if we could just instantly load into some of these DMs more easily and quickly there'd be so many cool places around the map to race or DM

sometimes I think that's why R* put so much effort into the GTA V map and then didn't use it for SP.... they must envisioned every nook and cranny being a potential race or DM location

In all seriousness though it is a nice place. I love the take they have on coffee shops in places like Los Santos and who inhabits them. And in the more suburban housed areas are really nice, too. Like mentioned earlier this is one of the few areas like this.

Who remembers when this screenshot was released? Apart from the trailers this was our first look at the world of GTA V. I remember being so hyped up when I first saw this away back in July of 2012.

It looks bad now. I hope to recreate this screenshot when I get the PS4 version next week.

I must say, I've noticed this area but never really explored it, I always get side tracked into doing something else.. 4 days to mirror park!

It's a shame they'll probably throw an apartment interior at you and say "here's your house". What dolts. I WANT MY OWN HOUSE DAMNIT.
