I won't have internet access until next month as I'm changing internet providers next paycheck. Problem is I've never gotten a game and played it day one without updating and redeeming everything first. I should be able to play the game straight out of the box and it work without updating right? Once answered mods can go ahead and close this... By the way I apologize for such a idiotic question. XB1 has had a few rare issues with updated firmware (that was updated recently) not working with the launch version of a game (that was designed for a firmware which was standard up until a week before) where you basically need to download a quick patch or firmware update to make sure everything is ok PS4 shouldn't matter truthfully 99% of the time XB1 won't matter either but I read about an issue like this happening with the recent Sunset Overdrive on XB1 where the XB1 updated its firmware but the non-patched SO did not match the new firmware and thus was unplayable and i'm guessing you're PS4 based on your sig so you should be ok TheMisanthrope 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Raynos Posted November 12, 2014 Share Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) If he's talking about a System Update, theres a good chance the game will come with the update on disc if it is needed. You might miss out on some early bug fixes etc as every game developer likes to put day 1 update patch on their games. Apart from that, i don't see an issue, a physical edition should be playable without the need for the internet. I asked last thursday and they said it was too early to tell for sure, and he said there's a possibility that they aren't since the game has been released already last year with a midnight release. BUT I wouldn't doubt that they do I'm going to call friday and ask if they are so if you want I'll message you to let you know or just call yourself? They should, but if they arent doing it for GTA again, they will be doing it that night for Dragon Age Little Big Planet, Far Cry 4 and the other games coming out that night. I picked up a few low key games when they came out the same night as the AAA's that way.
