DLC Weapons Rank Lock

It does get annoying but, say, they are level two, as you mentioned. They only have those DLC weapons, which is infact impossible might I add unless someone robs stores and gives them cash because they don't have any contacts who pay decent or bounties or simeon or anything yet to earn money at LEVEL TWO. At level two, you won't have that type of money unless you are sharing money between accounts or being given money or picking up the money. Otherwise, you would have to be higher than level two. To be able to purchase the special carbine rifle, you need money. All DLC weapons costs money and by the time you reach a certain rank, possibly ten, you will then be able to reasonably purchase that weapon. Now, to us, by the time they reach that rank, they will have unlocked the weapons we had at that low of a level. So, the SMG and all of that stuff will be in their aresonal and they will be on the same path as us, with just maybe one DLC weapon since at most that will be all they can afford. DLC weapons aren't free and you have to take in consideration the time it takes to earn the money for them. They are going to be alot higher than rank 2 and it is actually pretty even. Now, why do you care? We have the most OP weapons to use in combat once you're level 120+. Minigun, RPG, Grenade Launcher, Sticky bombs, AP pistol, assault shotgun, carbine rifle, heavy sniper, all of that. Not to mention our tanks, buzzards, jets, stats, and all else. We have nothing to worry about. If you get beat in a deathmatch against a low level with a decent weapon as opposed to a high level with superb weapons, then that is you. You are the problem, not them. It's your fault for not having enough skill to be able to kill them before they kill you. You have the weapons to do so, they don't. If they can kill you with those weapons, imagine if they had the same weapons and level and stats as you? Then that's just simply saying, in the long run, they are better than you.

Funny how people can't read and once again are assuming. I never said anything about getting killed by a lower rank, I only have once due to the fact that I let him, as I mentioned in an earlier post. I made this thread after observing, not because they are flooring me at rank 2... which they aren't anyway.

I'm not claiming you did. So, once again, you didn't read my post. What I said was in regards to your example and what you said. You being the one who said it, I used your name and your example as my example.

I just read it clearly this time and yep, my bad, sorry.

I only created my character about 3 weeks ago. I completely forgot about the DLC weapons in ammunation for a while. I loved the feeling of unlocking stuff early on. I agree with the OP, a level lock on DLC weapons is needed. I to this day do not own a DLC weapon (this may change when I get to 100 as that is the place where I think the level lock would be).

I think you're all looking at it from the wrong angle. Think about the missons, the main hook of GTA:O. Lower levels will now be so much more help if they have access to a bigger arsenal.

You're not meant to go in guns blazing. Two days ago I created a new character and I can't tell you how amazing of an experience it was to feel overwhelmed by enemies for a change. Instead of bunkering down in a corner and blindfiring, I found myself aiming for headshots, trying to keep my already low ammo count above 0. I found myself doing suicidal dashes for the enemy corpses just so I could scavenge whatever gun they had. I found myself playing smart just so I wouldn't get killed.

Face it. The game is simply holding the hands of the -controversially called- casual gamers. This would be fine, of course, if it was only holding hands and not giving them a gun that's above and beyond any gun you get by, well, playing.

You do hold a good point. It's always going to be tough to decide when a new gun should become level-only or if it should be given to anyone playing. The railgun should be given a levelcap but 200 is a bit much? I'm only level 70something and don't really play that often. Only when I'm with a few friends. I don't expect to get anywhere near level 200 and I imagine there's a lot of other people who are the same. While a gun might be strong and I agree with you it's a lot more rewarding to work for it, should it really be proposed as such a high-level weapon? And with the others weapons being brought up here, surely it doesn't make too much of a difference if an automatic rifle or a new pistol are given to the players straight off the bat? We didn't work for those weapons either, right?

So much people complain how the railgun will ruin online when in reality it will simply be an explosive musket. It should be level locked for the same reason the minigun is the last unlock: It's a novelty weapon. How many 120+ have you seen seriously using the Minigun for a fight?

I agree on the hand-holding, except that the casuals are the ones advocating for rank based gun locks. The non-casual attitude is that it doesn't matter if you have the gun right away, it's how well you use it. Instead you have casuals acting like time played to unlock something is a big deal and that they are entitled to better equipment than someone new.
