The trailers don't seem to have had as much time put into them and seem less polished. There also seems to be a general lack of advertising. In the month running up to the original V release I saw TV adverts, billboards, adverts on buses and bus stops. I haven't seen any of that for the next gen release. The picket fence trailer was bad though. They just picked random footage of the weirdest cut scenes in the game. Can you imagine if we saw that trailer before playing V? It's clear that Rockstar is all about cutscenes, machinima, scripting, and cool cinematic camera angles that have nothing to do with the actual game we see on our screens. I have been saying with great sarcasm and snark for the past 3 years that Rockstar fancies themselves to be junior move moguls. But they keep proving that this is actually true. Games? We don't need no stinking games. Just give us 2 hours of cutscenes that add up to a mediocre machinima movie and they think we'll lap it up. Not that great of a trailer but when it got released I was totally mindf*ckd. Anyone who played the the topdown versions and saw this for the first time probably knows the feeling. OT: Only trailer I disliked was the S&F trailer. It seemed like it was just thrown together really fast. Since this is a re-release then i think they want to focus on most of the tech. Obviously they won't have that sense of news and discovery because you've already played the game and know the ins and outs. Whenever Rockstar releases a trailer for a new game, even if it's Table Tennis 2 and dudes will be fawning all over rockstar trailers being more art than the Mona Lisa. The negativity around here has moved on from constructive criticism to continual baseless complaints about the tiniest little things, because there's a contingent of moronic, moaning fools that think finding something trivial to complain about, every single day, is impressing someone other than themselves. Now, back to the matter at hand. The trailer, at this point, doesn't need to be anything special, really. The majority of people buying this game already have it, or have already played it, or have seen tons of stuff about it already. What's the point in releasing a 3 minute trailer with loads of stuff in it, when they can just release a 1 minute trailer that recaps what we already know? This topic is about the recent GTA V trailers in comparison to previous ones, the OP was disappointed with them as of late. It's something to talk about. I just watched the first GTAV trailer and then the newest one in another topic. The new one just rushes by in a blur, and I keep expecting something badass to happen, and then the trailer is over with Devin's chest bump, and nothing badass happens. New city, new vehicles, new characters, seemingly endless possibilities. The latest trailer is for a game we have been playing for over a year now, but with better graphics and some added features. Don't expect the same hype. The trailer could be the best yet, but it wouldn't feel that way as we already know what to expect. You are going to be more excited about getting a new car than getting a new set of shiny alloy wheels for that car a year later. They've already successfully marketed this game once. All they need to do at this point is remind people it's returning. And that's what the last few trailers have done. Its a minority view on a tiny forum but it is what it is. You should be allowed to say it, Like was mentioned i get most annoyed at the people complaining about stuff like "the police uniform badge isnt the right shade of silver, the water current isnt legit, traffic lights should change every 18 seconds not every 19 seconds, there should be 1.3 miles of extra sand to make it a realistic desert" etc etc lets boycott the game because rockstar are greedy and its all about money. The reality is they are self entitled over analytical anal nut bags. I cant imagine them growing up during the days of the nes.
