Im genuinely suprised to see that most people in here understand they are not entitled to anything and being reasonable. I honestly expected a lot more complaining. Its not like getting it on a different platform will stop you from playing your previously purchased edition. You lose nothing therefore not entitled to anything. The bonus for returning players is nice. At least R* are doing something for us.

 

Im really only playing $20 for my copy anyway. Long story short EB gave me a full refund my copy I bought and that went straight towards my preorder.

It's not even up to Rockstar at the end of the day, the Publisher (TakeTwo) has every piece of decisive power in this case. They surely deemed the development time investment too high to offer this kind of "pass".

 

I'm still expecting EBgames and GameStop will do something like they did with The Last of Us (ie. Bring in the PS3 copy to get the PS4 copy for 24.99)

We all have vices. The majority of those are money down the toilet. GTAV addiction is a vice that you pay for one time and you can get your fix whenever you want.

 

To answer the question as to whether or not R* should give a discount to people who own GTAV, everyone and their grandma owns the game, and it's not like Microsoft, Sony, Rockstar, and Take Two need anymore money at all, but they know they'll make a major profit no matter what, so why discount it? Plus, there would be people who would take advantage of the discount (I'm saying this like it even makes sense...) by idk bringing a friend's copy of the game and showing they own it.

 

I seriously don't understand why people think that R* should give them a discount on a game. Sure it's sort of the exact same game, but they added new sh*t and it's for different consoles. Stop whining already.

It's the same damn game. There's no new GAMEPLAY. All the sh*t they've added is just aesthetic stuff, much like all of the updates we've gotten for Online. Reskinned vehicles, weapons, etc. Nothing exciting, therefore we shouldn't have to pay full price.

I am not "entitled" nor am I a kid. I am simply aware that GTA V for PS4 and Xbox One is NOT worth the asking price, due to the fact that it's almost the exact same game. Have fun wasting your money and then being disappointed on November 18th.

 

 

Ok, so don't buy it. I agree with you actually. Personally, it's not worth a purchase of a next gen console and 60 dollars. Other games were also re-released on next gen, like Last of Us, which were just graphical upgrades. At least this will have some extra content like FPS mode and interiors of cars and planes modeled for more immersion. That's enough for some people to shell out the dough, and ain't nothing wrong with that.

All those games you cited are different year to year. GTA V on the new consoles is the EXACT SAME GAME, only prettier. If they released a Madden 2015 that was exactly the same as 2014, only with better textures, people would tell them to go f*ck themselves.

 

Look, 60 dollars is a great deal if you plan on playing the game for another year. I've already played the damn thing six ways to Sunday. I can't see myself playing it another 2 months let alone 12. Unless Rockstar has something new to offer in the next gen game besides pretty flowers and the ability to adjust the size of my nose, 60 bucks is a waste of my money.

 

But I'd give 'em 20 bucks for it.

Here in America, being a young job-seeker doesn't bode many opportunities to make good money, where some young adults are lucky enough to work 2-4 jobs just to pay for bills, food and rent, loads of which had to really grind just to get a second job. Sure, its easy to say "get a better job," but most of the open jobs in the area I live in are entry-level, usually paying wages less than $11... Even our "entry-level" jobs require a year or two of experience, which making job hunting very hard for people out of high school and college, current and alumni. The really good-paying jobs, you need loads of experience, be part of an internship/apprenticeship, have connections, or even have a college degree, else the employer won't even consider acknowledge your existence. I've known guys that applied to more than 50 jobs, only to get a call back from maybe 1-5 of the places. Honestly, I feel bad for them.. I work one job, but the money goes to groceries at home.

 

Also, lots of students rely on financial aid and scholarships due to the insane tuition fees, especially for students not originally from the state the school resides. I work and went to school, and I can say it is very stressful, with my leftover money going towards gas and supplies I need for the semester or important things at home. That's life, so I put up with it.

well, I bought the PS3 (still at 200 €) just so I could play GTA V (70 €)

 

I knew it wouldn't come for the PC until 2015.....and since they didn't announce ANYTHING "next-genish" in relation to GTA V, I thought it wouldn't be remade for the PS4 etc...so I bought a dead console and a (now VERY much) limited GTA V for the PS3.

 

at the time I was thinking...OH DAMN....if I only KNEW it would come for the PS4, then I'd hold back and buy the new console (at 400 €)...but yeah, who wants to wait when you don't even know if it all pans out...RDR didn't make it to the PC....I stood in the rain before....

 

seriously pissed at this undeniable SONY & R* conspiracy though...they don't care....they just want money...they got it once...won't get it twice!
