Johnny and Niko question..[Spoilers]

Drive.

Recommended Posts

So, when we played GTA: V Johnny was killed at the beginning causing a war with the lost, but if we think back does anyone remember Niko and Johnny becoming friends cause I do! I know Trevor is crazy but Niko was a very dark character that we didn't really get to learn to much about, or maybe I didn't pay enough attention. So what I'm getting at is sense R* made all the DLC for IV they could do the same and have Niko come back.

Just got to thinking that's all.

Thanks,

Drive.

No. We aren't getting any kind of big story DLC or anything like that. What you see is what we will get along with the small content updates that we got with the last gen version. You can bet R* has already turned their attention towards the next GTA in the series and there wasn't enough time for them to do any serious additions to the story. All they did is add whatever the last gen consoles wouldn't allow them to add.

Rockstar already confirmed they would be doing large single player story DLC.

Stop being a god damn pessimist. The heists are also coming. They're busy dealing with recreating the entire game for next gen.

We won't see the Michael Hollick/Rockstar Games combination again. So? No Niko ever again. I feel sad about this, because Niko is my favourite GTA protagonist and I would like to play as him again.

I highly recommend you should take that back, if that was true we wouldn't have:

  • Lost in the Damn
  • Gay Tony

Just because they are focusing on the next "big" GTA doesn't mean we can't see more to keep us entertained to keep playing. Also they usually like making more story lines with the same engine, so they can keep adding features. For example: GTA 3, VC, and San Andreas were all on the same engine, yet they were different games, but over time more and more features were added. Same with the IV Engine it was used to experiment with so they could add to V much more, also why LD and GT came out. A lot of game companies do this.

Note: I could be wrong just my opinion.

R* said they weren't doing anything to the scale of these two.

As OP said above. When you think about it, it truly wasn't that big from IV to Gay Tony, they were actually kinda small, but hey I didn't see this news and if your right well your right.

You need to replay GTA IV and TLAD. Niko and Johnny ended on very bad terms, with Niko killing one of Johnny's best friends...

EDIT: @above. You call the DLC for GTA IV small? They took over half a year each to develop, and had 48 mission combined. They were more akin to expansions, than any DLC we see today.

Hmm, I'll do that I thought different. Also if anyone remember in GTA: V we do hear about Niko. Just FYI.

We do hear about Niko. Twice. Once Lester mentions an eastern European making waves on the east coast, and if you take Packie to the Paleto score heist, he will talk about the Bank robbery in GTA IV.

He's never mentioned by name though.

This. Niko was contracted by Ray and Phil to take out Johnny for ripping them of over a couple of million in cash. Niko took out his best friend Jim, but Johnny and the rest of the lost disappeared with the money.

The could bring Niko back if they really wanted to (although my hunch is they won't), but he certainly wouldn't be looking to avenge JK.

Niko and Johnny were not friends, they were just business associates a few times.Niko actually killed Jim and Jason who were Johnny´s friends and Johnny once kidnapped Niko´s cousin Roman,if either of them know who did those things, they would probably try to kill each other.

R* never ever confirmed a story DLC, people need to learn the difference between people trying to read between lines and a company flat out saying it. If there was any story DLC coming it would have been mentioned by now for them to better help resell their game. It would be a much bigger deal than first person mode. You know what they have confirmed though? To not expect any significant difference outside of visuals from the original version when you read what is coming with the game on November 18th. You can call it being a pessimist, I call using logic and not living in a fantasy world. If we were getting some big story DLC they would be hyping the sh*t out of it leading up to the release. I don't get OP mentioning the DLC's for 4 over and over. What does it have to do with 5? Nothing. The game is over with, so are the characters. Move on now.

Agreeing so much that I could hug you lol

Some of you guys need to apply the brakes on the hype train, seriously. You're harming nobody else but yourself in the end.

Exactly, yet people like us are wrong for saving them from themselves. The same people that fill their heads with false hope and the same ones who end up disappointed when they actually play the game. R* announced recently that heists would come some time after the PC release, if there was ANY kind of addition to the story they would be broadcasting it everywhere they could. It can't be stated enough that this is just an improved version of the original. Animals, better graphics all around, more traffic, better character customization, new side missions, and a bigger multiplayer lobby. There is no changes to the actual map or the story. Period.

That's somewhat true yes, we are use to the logic of the game ending and the characters disappearing, but everyone knows Niko was mentioned in GTA V, therefore your theory is wrong in this case. So the character really did not disappear, just simply not shown...

Also just cause people say stuff doesn't mean were trying to hype anything just keeping a open mind to what they could or might do. I could careless about another story as there will be plenty of PC mods and dedicated servers people will set up, it will be like CSGO right now.

  • Community Servers run by R* (aka GTA: Online)
  • Dedicated Servers run by users

So really people will develop a RP and go with that on the Dedi's.

Thanks,

Drive.

They already talked about Niko at one point in V

it's from the jewellery store heist, when Michael is asking Lester about the old crew and Lester says, 'there was this eastern european guy making moves in Liberty City, but he went quiet' or something like that. Guess he made his cash and got out.

Idk where the hell you guys are getting the idea that rockstar never said that there would be a story dlc, because they DEFINITELY did... Lemme grab the link...

You are amazing for this!

This also proves that there will be more installs for GTA V to keep us going!

Lester implies that the Eastern European guy "going dark" means Niko is either dead or out of the criminal life. The OP's theory seem like a convuluted, unrealistic hope...

If a story/online nap expansion ever visited Liberty City I would say the most we would get is a reference. In some dialogue Roman explains a dream where he has kids and is running a restaurant with Niko. A building with "Cafe Bellic" or something kike that would be all I expect. Confirms the loose end, doesn't make a stupid plot with a character whose worth is spent.

Niko is never coming back to GTA. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the guy who voiced Niko said that he deserved more money from Rockstar only after the successful launch GTA IV had. Telling a big company that you "deserve" more money is a sure fire way to not get a job with them again. I hope we get more Franklin/Trevor/Michael DLC, they were all awesome characters.

I don't think Niko is coming back, but the whole Michael Hollick comment was taken so far out of context it wasn't funny. What he actually said was voice actors are paid very little compared to film actors for the hours they put in, especially if they do motion capture. This was a comment about the industry, other people chose to interpret it as a swipe at R*. Both sides have clarified that it wasn't.
