hornedturtle
Many people including myself find the inability to crouch outside of cover a pain in the ass. Should gta have a crouch feature? off topic spam prevention thread igotskiz, JayDM420, jazzbone and 4 others

Nah nah nah Gta 6
In the older games it was ok to have it, since there wasn't really any cover system, IV had cover system though it controlled like sh*t and crouching saved my life. Because GTA V's cover system is A LOT better, more faster, more easy to use and just improves everything over the IV one, TBH there wouldn't really be a point to crouching anymore because it would be useless due to the new cover system. Furry_Monkey
I can think of times when a crouch option would be an advantage, even when in cover. Take for example the car parks at the airport. If you're inside and someone's outside and you take cover against the wall, there's these massive big circular holes all over the place that you can be shot though, but they only from about waist height, upwards. If you could crouch then you could actually cover, but as it is your character just stands with his back to all these gaping holes. I can't see a disadvantage to adding crouching, so I'd give it a
hornedturtle
My problem with it is the game is balanced with active cover as the focus. It is the main reason why enemies are so accurate. It turns the game into continous turret sections without the turret.
RajunKjun
I wish I could fire blindly from cover as accurately as the npcs do; even centering the cross hair on target won't hit the broadside of a barn. hornedturtle
Phantomspirit
Yes there should be crouch,so useful, can't understand why they couldn't do it,press R3 ,crouch...move in crouched position..
Maya Echo Visari
Well, if they made the 'stealth' stance more useful, I can forgive the idea of there not being a crouch option. Stealth seems like a pointless mechanic but there really can be some things done with it with the way cops are programmed now. I feel like they really didn't look into it too much. I hope that changes on current gen. If there was a way to 'Crouch' when in cover, i.e: Instead of standing with your back to a low wall, where your head is easily poking out, that would be cool. But as for defensive mechanics.. switching between cover and sliding around corners of cars and walls, - They nailed it pretty good, and I'm really happy with what they've done. donnits
CROUCH: Easily be double-used as Stealth, as it was in GTA San Andreas. So, you can make less noise when moving. Smaller target to hit, therefore increasing your chances of survival. Increases accuracy when firing weapons. Looks badass. COVER: Completely situational, must be near something to take cover on. Taking cover behind something, odds of being hit are greatly decreased. STEALTH: You make less noise when moving. Looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Simply Logic
yes, it should because what is a grand theft auto game when you cant crouch.
AlisaM
TBH there wouldn't really be a point to crouching anymore because it would be useless due to the new cover system. I would like to be able to crouch or even go prone because standing upright on some buildings makes me as easy a target as if I were on the ground. I can't tell you how many times I've sold a car at the Los Santos Customs that's in the nice area of town and been killed as soon as I come out. And even quickly going right onto the roof doesn't save me. Phantomspirit
Nah nah nah Gta 6
yes, it should because what is a grand theft auto game when you cant crouch. It was never in GTA 1, 2 or 3, and those games are good, especially 2.
Zeta87
Crouch wins because you don't have to be near something to take cover on. If you are on a roof, standing, they could see you from the street and shoot you down, if you can crouch ( or prone) they could not be able to see you, therefore shoot you down. If you are in the middle of a flat road, there is a car 50 meters in front of you and someone in front of you is shooting you ( but she/he behind that car ) if you are standing they can hit you, because you are not close enough to get cover behind that car, if you could crouch (or prone) the car could hide you anyways and provide cover. EW200
I want PRONE position. Can't tell you how many times I have been headshot whilst walking over a hill trying to line up a shot. Jehannum and Furry_Monkey

jazzbone
The current cover system is not enough and often works gimpy like standing up when we don't want to or not taking cover at all. Adding crouching would help and would also allow cover on structures too low that the cover sysytem will not activate. The ultimate would be the standing, kneeling, prone, and crawling option featured in some games. 30 player online with crawling snipers anyone? GunBrothersGaming
I would like it but should it be there? Meh - I got other things I would have on my list of "should be there" than crouching. Things I'd rather have: Cops arrest you Tasers Holding up people on the street Flying through the windshield if you hit something in multiplayer All of the functionality of Single player in multiplayer Owning businesses Interiors Multiplayer Wildlife All cars customizable being able to store utility vehicles or at least buy them So in short - Who cares about crouching? The ability to sell or get rid of unused Pegasus vehicles, randomly bought to try, but never hardly used. Like some one else mentioned; a gun cabinet to store excess and rarely used guns. Tons of other stuff, like opening up a few dozen buildings, so you can actually go inside them. Icreased bountys. And so on. But, if prone/crawl was introduced then all you would have is people abusing it and crawling around the map, like they do with cover and "combat roll".. people seem to spend their battles either rolling about like some circus freak/SAS blck-ops superstar or hiding behind bushes waiting until you either get pissed off and rush them (and certain death, unless your a combat roll freak) or die of boredom. All these ideas are great, but people will find a way to abuse them, like everything that gets introduced to onlne games.
