Do you think the driving and car damage in GTA IV was more fun then GT

Both driving physics have there faults but I thought the boat physics from IV was more fun to free roam then gta v's because in IV the boat physics gave you more to do V gives you no skill at all to drive the cars at all anyone can drive and then not get hit by other cars and when you try to push the cars its like to try pushing the tank and the damage well is there any? not really just a few paint scratch the only serious damage it has os the wheel falling off but thats it there is no dents anymore unless you beat the crap out of it with you're hands and feet.

My issue with the vehicle physics is how police cruisers can stop a semi truck dead in its tracks. That's what annoys me. In GTA IV, a lot of cars can be pushed around and shoved off the road. It was possible with a lot of vehicles. In GTA V, unless you have a tank, you can't really push around another vehicle.

I think it fit Liberty City more, while V's driving fits Los Santos more.

i agree with you that the cop cars shouldn't be able to stop a semi truck but the semi trucks in V should be able to push the cars though.

Oh. I thought the thread title was alluding to GT as in Gran Turismo lol.

Anyway I've gone over this in detail in the "driving debate" thread, but I still prefer GTA IV's and find racing more fun.as well. As for the damage I like in GTA V bits and pieces will fall off and you can get heavy steering damage, but it can sometimes be a bit inconsistent if you run into a wall head on at speed and the most you'll get is a busted headlight and maybe a slightly crinkled bumper.

Put a little more thought into it next time, honey bun...

The driving physics in both games have their pros and cons so it's almost impossible for me to decide which is best, I think a mix of IV's and V's handling combined with IV's damage would be the sweet spot for me.

The vehicle damage system is the only aspect of driving that i prefer it in IV to V.

In V crashing a car is like you are crashing in wall concrete. It give you absolutely no feeling of realistic car crash. That is where IV did better. Cars should flip over or move alot when you crash into them but in V they barely move any, it`s like a f*cking iron or concrete. Not to mention how NPCs die instantly form the slightest bump.

Well it is some damage system where a wheel falls off or it becomes mangled so you can`t drive it anymore but this isn`t good enough.

They could do so much better if they would pay more attention to it.

Yeah not to mention cops PIT maneuring you on truck lol.

Put a little more thought into it next time, honey bun...Grand Theft Auto IV's loose, tipsy, movie like driving fits well with the tight streets of Liberty City, while the tight, grippy, arcade style driving of Grand Theft Auto V fits the long and curvy roads and especially the off road parts of the map better than IV's driving physics would.

At least in my opinion.

I preferred IV's damage system. I felt that it gave you more consequences if you were driving recklessly.

Cheers.

Oh yes, Adders going off-road at 180 KM/H makes sense

IV driving mixed with V's map would be the best thing ever, just needs more top-speed on the cars to compensate for the map size.

Yeah, that's how I feel. Cars in GTA V just feel fake and plastic. All you do is get a dent and a scratch. In GTA IV you can really f*ck that car up by rolling it which seems a lot more realistic... which is what I thought R* were going for.

I'm one of those people who absolutely hated V's driving. Far too easy and grippy. I do like how advanced V's damage physics though. More parts can fall off. They just need to tone down vehicle'd durability though. It is way too hard to dent a car in V.

I'm waiting Sting4S to post on this thread.

IV damage and blood was awesome.

V damage is limited to body parts falling off & broken A-arms. Blood could use some work.

IV - Driving was too boaty.

V - Drriving was too much on rails..like a train.

I don't even use the front-brakes in V!

Something between would be nice for driving.

More blood and damage needed for V tho.

This, Liberty City didn't need arcady handling because there wasn't any long and large highways. V's driving isn't bad, it's adapted to the game, Los Santos is a huge metropolitan area surrounded by countryside with 6-lane highways. So the fast paced handling is appropriate to the game. I tried putting V's Banshee handling in IV and it doesn't feel right though. Each game has it's adapted handling

I agree plus IV was more fun to drive around V's driving reminds of bigs over the roading racing because you can drive up the mountains.

Anyone wishing we have IV's handling in V needs to go back and play the damned game. It's AWFUL. I mean, we've had this argument so many times, I finally went back and loaded the game up... no, there's nothing fun or realistic about the driving in IV. It blows my mind that anyone would prefer it.

GTA V's driving mechanics are perfect for this type of game. Just enough physics in there to make it a little challenging, but forgiving enough that you don't throw your controller through the TV screen during every mission where you have to chase someone.

The REAL problem with GTA V is the AI, and it's a BIG PROBLEM. If it's not fixed for the PS4 version, I will use the record feature to make compilations of every time a f*cking NPC car gains the mass of a thousand suns and plows me out of the way like I'm made of tin foil.

Hell just tonight, some cops were chasing someone, I pulled into LSC just as a cop was driving out of it, and not only did he ram me, but he pushed me all the way across the street, smashed me up against the wall, flipped me over, then got out and shot me to death for scratching his car.

THAT sh*t needs to f*cking stop.

Don't ever try to force your opinion on other people's throats. Me myself prefer IV's driving to V, and a LOT did in this forum. If you hate IV's physics that much, I'm sure you sucked at it. Simple as that.

IV's physics needs techniques to make it work. Without it, you'll end up hitting where ever the f*ck you went.

Nah nah nah Gta 6

V because I can go fast AND go around corners, though I couldn't really see IV's driving with Los Santos and Vice Versa.

In IV I flipped over a lot, IV's isn't BAD but I think V improves it, neither of them are realistic.

I preferred the damage in V because IV's looked a bit ugly.

And here we are again, at "sucking at IV`s driving˝

Do you people seriously believe that the only way to hate IV`s driving is if you suck at it? Come on, try not to pretend eachother that IV`s driving is an enjoyable experience and that you if you hate it that`s only if you suck at it.

There is nothing to suck at. If i don`t suck at real life`s driving, how could i suck at driving in a freaking video game? It`s just a combination of button mashing and tapping. Any mentaly challenged kid can do that.

Yes, many people prefer IV`s driving to V, i can see that but don`t forget this forum just a small fraction of huge world wide gaming comunity. And outside of this forum most of the people hate IV`s driving with passion. Just check outside this forum and you`ll see.

So, do they all suck at driving in IV? I don`t think so.

I`ve mastered the IV`s driving after few weeks of playing it, to the part where i didn`t crash anymore but i still hated it. Because no matter how carefull you`re you will always sliping off the road and the tires start squeeling at 10 mph. Yeah, that`s real realism lol

And i`m not going to even mention the bikes in IV which were even bigger disaster. A motorbike where you have the feeling you are actually steering with rear wheel instead of front? Come on, jesus. how can you enjoy that i will probably never understand.

Driving in IV was a huge faliure, they tried to make it realistic but they f*cked up totaly and created an army of angry gamers all over the world with so many complaints that Rockstar`s server literally crushed.

I prefer the damage to vehicles in IV and the episodes. The only vehicle I disliked it for was the APC, it was too weak.

In V it's not as fun for me because you can crash and sometimes hardly damage the car. The vehicle that should be the most fun is just plain weak, the Rhino is very weak. They should have made it much more durable.

I used to enjoy smashing into everything in IV and the episodes, in V I don't enjoy it so much.
