No mention on the limit for PC players about player count in GTAO, why

Discuss.

Edit: i hope it's because the limit is much higher than PS4/X1 version :p

It would be nice to have lots of people on the map.

They haven't released much information about the PC version, not even the system specs. They just aren't telling us anything.

I thought they did actually confirm it's 30 too, no?

If no then I think I'd want 46+2 slots for spectators like 30+2 on PS4 and Xbox One.

Could be 48+2 too as 24 vs 24 seems more likely than 23 vs 23, no?

You're not the first one to tell me that, but i can't find any confirmed information about it by Rockstar Games.

Rumor about 32 players limit...

How about we wait for the damn console version to be released first? You guys are rushing the PC hype too much too fast, geez we don't know the damn specs yet! Let alone GTA:O details...

So can't we just speculate because the next gen versions are not out yet? Or discuss about our ideal player limit? I've read that a lot of people thought that 16 player limit was too low, so, according to their experience, i'd know what they suggest.

PC will be more.

How do you know that? Anyways, isn't it 30+2 spectators on PS4/Xb1?

It is 30+2, sorry.

I feel as though if it were the same, Rockstar would have confirmed it then and there.

Yeah, me too, but you know, it's just a feeling.

60+ would be kind of crazy, especially with the way apartments work, the garages would be all clogged up probably or there would just be huge griefing around there, though there will probably less % of griefers on PC. I think ~45 would be a good number.

The topic says "no mention" /i commented on why there's probably no mention. If the topic's name were "Player count speculation whatever..." my reply would be totally different.

Or people would have to learn not to have the most expensive apartments in the game. Would force people to get the other options so they can avoid that. Which I think would be a good thing. It would bring more variety to the game.

More isn't necessarily better.

I know games like Battlefield 4 for instance like to brag about their 64 players slot servers on PC while an unplayable mess is actually what it is.

I hope that PC delay would be tied to having different GTA Online - suited for PC market with dedicated servers and different "lobbies" when switching characters. GTA:O on consoles is great but we know that online on PC is something else thanks to games like Quake or others with "hot-seat" modes. GTA IV Multiplayer was fairly good (but not great) on xbox 360 and ps3 but on PC it was utter sh*t. No wonder people tried to remake San Andreas Multiplayer or Multi Theft Auto.

In terms of players limit on PC, it should be 64 or around so. Imagine Deathmatch in Prison or Fort Zancudo when one side defends it and the other attacks or a 64 races divided to 2 or 3 leagues where each player tries to achieve best time while racing in both LS and Blaine. But mainly for Freeroam there should be more.

Any more than 30 and it will be hell. I really see no point in suspecting anything different for GTA Online on pc. It will be exactly the same as on console.

Usually there is a bit more in PC than consoles. But I also think 64 would be overkill in the city. With 16 psychos in xbox360 was enough to turn the city into a bloody mess. I cant imagine 64.

Maybe they will do 2-3 types of PC servers for you to pick. Like PvE in free roam only, PvP with rules like consoles and PvP No rules no penalties for those in need to go crazy bashing skulls.

64 players wouldn't be a problem at all, and fi you think it is then simply don't play in lobbies that high. It's better to have the option of 64 players than not having it.

It should be there from day one. Defining how you play the game or what type you want now to play is good idea. Things like Bad Sport "award" would make more sense when someone would behave differently than what he stated. Something like that is in Dead Rising 3 where you choose prefered style of coop players.

I have to fully agree they should make servers for 64 players and also servers with 32 players.

Oh and yeah the console "bad sport" concept sux ass. In 360 version my son has a f*cking tank and he CANT use it because is "bad sport".

Then wtf they put stuff for you to buy and use and then "punish" you for using it. Is so stupid.

Servers with "no rules" should be available for PC version as PvE on free roam servers for those who want to focus on making money only.

Uncle Sikee Atric

It's also a technical issue....

If 48 / 64 / ? number of players are trying to connect to a host lobby that is also playing, you can imagine the lag and bandwidth issues that causes, it might only be a few K per ping of data, but it quickly adds up....

So I think they are holding dedicatyed servers for us to help limit the issue and let 48 / 64 / ? player, play together with limited lag issues.

But 64 is the absolute max I want to see, if you want to do anything, you'll run into another player with the area the size it is. Sometimes you want to do more than shoot another random stranger and I doubt you'll be able to do it.

If custom lobbies or even dedicated servers are available for PC then 64 doesn't mean it will be a complete mess. It would be great for larger communities, possibly RP ones. Not to mention no one would be forcing you to play with 63 other players.. you could probably just set a limit / create a friends only or invite only lobby.

It would only become a problem if there pure restrictions like on console. Something tells me the fact that there's levels and persistent money (hardly an economy) that we might get unranked lobbies.
