What would persuade you to upgrade?

I will be upgrading anyway, but I'm just in no rush to do so.

 

I'd be in more of a hurry is it was 60-120 FPS, or if it had an expanded map, or if it didn't require PS+ to play online.

Far Cry 4 and GTAV are comming out the same day!!! Its gonig to be a good winter. I'm also waiting for Mass Effect 4, Uncharted 4 and Fallout 4.

Jeez lotsa 4s in there lol.

I engoy racing games but to me nothing came close to NfS Underground and Most Wanted for ps2. MW for ps3 was an insult and a waste of money and recourses. NFS Carbon was OKish.

 

I'm finally going to be able to dust off the ps4 on the 18th yay!

Getting a fat 2.5K cheque off the bank for mis-selling me something a few years back has been the biggest motivation for upgrading to a PS4 (on Monday next week to be precise..)

 

Also, you have to figure that things like first-person are going to make the game feel very different, let alone the complete overhaul of the graphics/world..

 

And one thing that I'm really looking forward to is being able to record footage.. so that I can snitch on tards that use glitches/wall-glitches etc.

 

Had one this morning managed to wall-glitch him and his buzzard into the building right next to the heliport.. >.<

 

(though he wasn't happy when I got back to my apartment nad watched him on TV.. see, if I had a PS4, I'd be recording that shlt and sending it to Rockstar ASAP.. with this kind of power, next-gen might be less laden with tards and cheats.. here's hoping..)

The PS4s record function works like a boss. I was already loving it before I read your post but that's putting its usefulness to another level. Plus imagine all the epic deaths and crazy sh*t you'll be able to save.. Its going to be awesome YouTube time.

Lol, I didn't know Microsoft had such reaching power that they could force you to buy a xbox when you walked into the shop wanting the ps4.

Graphics are new, but still, the game itself is already old and same boring gameplay.

it amuses me that some people find it odd that people want good graphics. Why wouldn't we? The better the graphics, the more immersed in the world you get. that the beauty of GTA. The tiny details you realise they've bothered with. I remember playing GTA 3 and thinking "i wish i could shoot tires out". Now we can... and they burst first... then tear off... or burn and pop. amazing

PS4 has pwetty grafix but PS3 has way more to play, and the games that are there have much more depth than these shallow ps4 tech-demos.

 

I'll upgrade when The Crew releases, only PS4 game worth getting that we haven't already played last-gen. I've already played GTAV, I've already played shallow "frostbite" NFS games, I've already played generic sci-fi first person shooters, I don't need a PS4 to play those games with shinier graphics.

Getting rid of all wall braking glitches, a automatic notification letting me know that when i reported a cheating player it helped,a sniper distance making me able to see and kill a person at trevors airfield from mount chilliad, that new railgun being the gun against fighter jets coming towards you, higher payouts of events in freeroam and also just more events in freeroam

Pretty much this..

 

The heavy sniper distance right now is bare jokes..

 

and wall glitches (as I mentioned earlier) are a particular bugbear of mine..

 

Funniest thing about this morning though was the glitcher had a lower level friend hanging around trying to get kills, so I go into passive and walk towards the glitch.. he then starts following me, wasting ammo etc.. sends me a message telling me to take him on. (yeah right, when there's someone behind an invisible wall that can shoot me easily.. ) so cut to the chase, he gets a car, I dive round a corner into an alleyway and get onto a bin, he keeps ramming bin.. not realising my passive was counting down.. several auto shotgun rounds later I take his shltty car and drive away.. (I did restrain from sending him a text saying he was both tedious and cretinous, as that'd have been rubbing salt on the wounds..)

 

I'll be sure to report on what it's all like on Monday when I get the new console and game..

The only thing that would make me go out and buy a new console and pre-order GTA V right now would be a larger map.

 

Seeing as we're not going to get that I'll probably wait until the end of December/start of January at the earliest. I'm in no hurry, the game isn't going anywhere plus there are not enough games out on next gen yet so I can't justify to myself buying a new console for just one game that I've played a lot of already.

as i understand it we can only upgrade (transfer character) once. as PC is my prefered platform i'll have to wait a while.

 

nonetheless looking forward to the NG release and seeing what content, features etc i have to look forward to.

I thought we could basically copy a character over so you could keep the same character on current and next gen but they develop independant to each other, or have I been misinformed?

i could be mistaken (i've been wrong at least 8 times before) but i think the PS3 characters you transfer to PS4 stay on PS3 but progress is no longer advanced and they cannot be transfered again.

 

it's a one shot deal at the moment but that's not to say when the PC version is getting ready to release R* may well allow a copy/transfer from ? to PC.

 

they really do make it up as they go along.

I'll probably end up on 360 and Xbone eventually so it would be good for me if it we were just making a copy of our character rather than moving it. Not bothered about the one shot nature of it but I wouldn't like to loose the character I have at the moment.

That's my understanding of it. You can progress your character onto one next-gen platform or PC, then you can still use it on the PS3/X360 but you can't progress any further with that character...

A Huge Map expansion (like the one people are posting on here). I think I would puposly boycott the game completely if R* started releasing little map expansions at a time (and that's most likely what they are going to do (they never release a lot of stuff at one time)).

I would upgrade if the driving physics would be re-done along with the damage modeling. Its those things that are now on par with Saints row. Its also the reason why was about to not buy GTA V when it was released. But then again it was worth the $30 is payed for it on day 1.

 

To me, the better graphics don't mean anything to me. If they however would have re-done at least that part, which makes driving cars more fun. I would have upgraded instantly.
