SPND and I disagree on a lot of things but I'm pretty sure he doesn't hate Europeans in a racially-motivated way, if at all. Secondly, it's disingenuous to call Ashkenazi Jews Europeans. Many among the Ashkenazim wanted to assimilate into wider European culture and did so successfully during the Enlightenment. However it wasn't long before the Dreyfus affair, pogroms and worse reared their heads and made it pretty clear that Europe had no intention of considering the Jews to be European. Naturally I can't speak for SPND's ancestors but I doubt that they, as Polish Jews, had much or anything to do with European colonialism. Heck, it's more likely that your ancestors had something to do with this. Should this have any bearing on you? No, of course not--how can you be held accountable for the actions of people you're distantly related to but otherwise have no affiliation with? We should honour the good deeds and traditions of our ancestors, and be mindful of the ill (for we can learn lessons from all of them) but that's about it. Damn it.
