Honestly, if it doesn't come with the stock console (meaning everyone has the opportunity to use it), then R* probably won't waste their time on developing such a complex bit of kit. I mean, have you even considered the costs before proposing this idea?

Why not? We could use the ps camera or the kinect. Or, if you don't have this accessories, you could upload a picture on social club and "voila"!

Complex piece of kit is giving a lot of credit for this technology which is sort of outdated now anyways, but I agree with you that R* are very likely to use their resources elsewhere on mechanics and features that will be used on a much wider scale!

 

I heard they even remade the Character creator which is way more useful than this face scanning tech. I'm not saying I don't want the face-scanning tech (like anyone, I'll take everything I can get!) but I'd be disappointed to see this implemented at the expense of other mechanics

It's a good idea. First time I saw it used was Tiger Woods PGA 2010 or FIFA 2010. For fifa it was a complete clusterf*ck. Servers broke down all the time bc pressure. Now it works though. And it's a cool feature in fifa, but it's ea. They f*cked it up already by making the VP mode sh*t.
