I've been going through this for awhile, but being today is my rare off day from both jobs, i decided to take the day to grind missions. Pretty much 60% of the missions today have been with people who grab the coke, package, or any other mission item and run off around the map with it. I started at about 8 am today and it is now 1:30 pm and i only managed to amass 150k from nonstop on call missions. Literally as i sit here, 2 pricks are in jets dicking around with madrazo's documents.

You think the devs can implement a mission boundry maybe? A mission timer?

Maybe a timer, like 1 minute? If the player doesn't deliver the item in 1 minute that item is transferred to another player.

They should just make it to where anybody can deliver the documents once another player collects them.

Sometimes that's trolls, but with the new payout structure, a lot of scrubs think that taking the most time possible is the most efficient way to make money (in reality, taking 4-6 mins nets the highest $ per min)

If you want to combat it yourself, you have a few options:

  • Join a crew. Almost any crew will do that has 150+ players.
  • Play missions solo
  • Be super fast and collect any objectives before the others, and try not to get caught by the tolls.
  • Visit the matchmaking secion of this forum to find fellow grinders.

As for what R* can do... Well I don't like the "object transfers after x minutes" idea as that could be exploited. It does introduce a good idea for future missions though. Some kind of hot potato system which your player has to drop after a certain amount of time, so you need all players to cooperate to deliver it.

Maybe some kind of "wrong way" or "idle" system, so that any player carrying an object for delivery who is moving away / not moving towards the hand-in (when without a wanted leve), is warned (like the "wrong way" notice in races) that if they don't start heading towards the right location within x seconds, they will be removed from the mission and recieve bad sport points, and if they are warned 3 times (moving towards and away repeatedly) they are kicked and recieve bad sport points.

They should just make it to where anybody can deliver the documents once another player collects them.

Nah, you could just have one player exploit this by waiting at the hand-in point for an instant hand-in.

that works for Los santos connection. The person with the coke does t have to go to madrazos. Anyone can.

So some missions it does work that way.

I know, and I can't say I agree with it, and I kind of doubt it's intentional. Although for that mission, it doesn't ever say "deliver the coke to Madrazos" or "help deliver the coke to Madrazos", it just says "return to Madrazos" to all players.

I suppose for longer missions (and LSC is certainly one of them) it's arguably ok for the mission to work like this, but for the missions where the return journey makes up most of the mission, it wouldn't make sense. And what about the missions where you have to deliver a vehicle?

If the other players in the mission are too stupid to vote-kick the offending player out of the mission, then they deserve to be tormented by him...

Or the people like Anna, El Estupido and Leroy.

I still like my idea about griefers. Once you end up in bad sport, it's permanent.

You're forced to start over a new account if you want out. That would make griefers think twice before griefing.

There are a bunch of missions that are easy to do solo (doubly easy with a Buzzard) so you can make your cash without bothering with the worthless GTA0 population. That's the way I do 99% of my grinding, and the mission success rate is almost 100%, so virtually no wasted time.

I join missions occasionally just to see what happens, and usually it is not that bad, but mission success rate is only about 50-60% at best even when everybody has good intentions. Playing missions with other players is just a crapshoot that you have to be in the mood for.

Just do missions with friends or people who you can trust. Take it from someone who purposely trolls missions :)

well you know you can always vote kick the "griefer" you know...

heck the other day i decided to join a survival for the first time in ages and one of the guys was AfK and a message was displayed encouraging players to kick vote the idlin player.

samething can be done during missions.

NO that would only make griefers gang up to report people with the sole purpose of sending that player into badsport, therefor ending that players career.

griefers win again!

Vote to kick is irrelevant as it's terribly implemented..

You can't kick a griefer by yourself. Say for example it's just 2 players in the mission, your vote to remove them will count for nothing. And if you're in a mission with two of them like the OP was talking about, you certainly can't do anything about it.

What if the griefer waits for you to pick up the package, and then repeatedly runs you down for 5 mins so you get ejected from the mission?

he will kill you instead i think

that being said, blow up the package, let the mission fail, and if there is a second try let the griever do all the work

also if he is driving a super car, blow it up and then get to the package first

yes indeed; youre not gonna earn sh*t, but a true griever is rage quiting generaly at such a moment and you made a point :)

and well....if he is more skilled then you and youre not able to do such a thing, the thing occurs what always occurs in such a sh*tuation...

youre screwed

but then you can just leave and join of the other thousands of lobbies :)

And here I thought this was about team killers... For that, there should be an option to immediately boot the person for killing a teammate, just like in Halo where you get a betrayal, the victim has the option to kick you out of the game. Would be a nice addition to combat those kids in Zentorno that try to run you down at any given moment.

I'd hope R* could see the difference of a true griefer.

The griefers account would show they blew up many PV's and have had multiple "mission griefing votes", and voted that someone else is a griefer over and over again. Abuse of the system and shown once again as a griefer.

As my account would show, I blew up zero PV's or so few that it's not standard griefing status, and have only voted on occasion about a griefer in a mission. That showing, I'm not the abuser of the system.

It may not be perfect, but something needs done about these mission griefing assholes.

They could implement something like a radius feature to every mission, If your not in the radius when the team passes one of the checkpoints you don't get the full payout and if your not within the radius at the final checkpoint (madrazo's house, simeon's dealership, Gerald's apartment, etc.) you don't get anything.

If your only with the team at 2 of the checkpoints in a 5 checkpoint mission, mission ending checkpoint not included so really there is only 4, you will only get 0.5x the pay you could've got. Keep in mind that would apply even if you were included in the end of mission cutscene since you have to be near the final checkpoint to get paid in the first place. So if your in a 10 checkpoint (11-mission end point=10) and are only with the team at 7 of the checkpoints you only get 0.7x the pay you would've got if you were there for all 10.

This way you get the full pay for doing everything and the griefers and lazy players get nothing, the way it should be.

It never works... And your response is the perfect example of the condescending little pricks who play this game.

/dickhead

-The vote to kick should be improved

-afk means no rp or cash

-no kills means no rp or cash

-time limit for all missions

-encourage players to play through missions faster, not slower by removing the recent increased pay for more time.

Until then try to avoid random players.

1. Invest in a Buzzard or tank.

2. You can finish most missions solo on hard. Certainly with the aid of a Buzzard or tank.

3. Play missions with a trusted partner in crime.

4. Multiple player or crew bonus is not worth the frustration.

Sad to say, a lot of randumbs are d*cks. Some are outright griefers. Most of them are plain stupid, rushing in, going Rambo and getting killed instantly. Or turning the Titan of a job into a ground nail. Sometimes I run into sleepers (inactive players). Both my avatars are level 250+ so I get kicked a lot. I gave up on playing missions with randumbs.

Suitable solo grinding missions are:

- Chemical Extraction with a tank.

- Cleaning out the Cat house with a Buzzard. Just land on the roof of the derelict hotel near the big hole. Make sure to touch the white marker on top of the roof. Anna wil run to your Buzzard and will take a seat.

- Editor and Thief. Do not follow the GPS to the right, but go left. Do not cross the intersection. Snipe the editor from across the intersection.

- All Cristal Clear Out missions with a Buzzard or tank.

For most missions you need 6-9 in game hours start to finish for maximum payout. So after you collected the package, go take a toilet break or watch tv. When the in game time has elapsed, deliver the package.

Only griefers I've encountered lately are people being pricks with PVs. Some guy ejected someone from his PV so the other guy blew his car up...then mine. On Rooftop Fumble (weak arse car) some guy was trying to destroy PVs and run players over. After he blew mine up I dealt with him by running him over...then I blew myself up in a stolen buffalo after fudging a jump :D
