the_maciej
Same here. Drivin around in my spare time, everything looks 'fine and dandy'. No bugs or unloaded textures at all. That's a really good one! Snoops27
Gravarty
Nice! If i remember correctly, there's a PS2 texture mod already, but i absolutely hated it because all billboards were marked with his username. This is why i really hope that you're still working on this mod, because the last post has been send about 4 weeks ago ... Silent
I would say it's partially deprecated by [REL|SA] PS2 to PC map converter
the_maciej
I would say it's partially deprecated by [REL|SA] PS2 to PC map converter Which is a bit sad, to be honest. Although the converter is undoubtedly a great tool, the PS2 map is yet not fully compatible with all the already present map fixes and improvements. Just as the VCS team has proven, doing things by hand is usually the best way to do things around here. There was also the aforementioned arkai ps2 texture pack given away somewhere around the forums, but with original billboards restored. I could either look for the original source or upload it myself, combined with the UltimaRisingPhoenix textures as I keep all of them in one folder. EDIT: In this topic you can find the arkai's mod with regular billboards:http://gtaforums.com/topic/749193-sa-ps2-features-to-pc/ Edited January 6, 2015 by eagle6446
Jinx.
I would say it's partially deprecated by [REL|SA] PS2 to PC map converterNot really. This mod converts only the PS2 map textures for PC map, while that mod converts the entire PS2 map.
UltimaRisingPhoenix
So does that mean someone already converted all the textures? Well if that so then I might have to stop my work... What you guys think?
Jinx.
So does that mean someone already converted all the textures? Well if that so then I might have to stop my work... What you guys think? Nope. That tool converts the entire map (models + textures). You convert only textures for the PC version of the ma, so yea, it's a difference. I don't understand, when you said the entire map, that means everything? like what I'm doing but only textures? Well, anymore responses guys? savidge
Please continue doing what you're doing. I would love to have a PS2 textured map without any misplaced textures (such as the SF airport one you fixed earlier in this topic). Just a quick question BTW, are these textures mipmapped? -Quantum- and Jinx.
plsdeletemyprofileN0r0k
yes, please continue, i would love the textures but the PC map -Quantum-

Mipmapped? can you explain what is it? XD I will try to get more textures for you guys if I can, I am like busy in life but I will try to convert more. savidge
plsdeletemyprofileN0r0k
i think mipmaps are like smaller textures, similar to LOD. but i dont know how to make them
UltimaRisingPhoenix
Well, I'm guessing it is due to PS2 textures being smaller than the PC ones.
plsdeletemyprofileN0r0k
Mipmaps are needed to 'filter' the textures. To remove the 'grain' and improve performance by a bit. I think you can understand it better with this post Edited January 11, 2015 by R4GN0R0K UltimaRisingPhoenix, Nights744 and savidge
UltimaRisingPhoenix
Oh now I understand much better and the answer to your question is no and I also don't know how to make them but the PS2 Version doesn't have mipmapped textures right?
savidge
but the PS2 Version doesn't have mipmapped textures right?I don't think it does but it will look much better with mipmaps included. If you don't want to add mipmaps in then that's fine.
plsdeletemyprofileN0r0k
i probably think it wont look that bad without mipmaps, because the ps2 textures are already lowres
The_GTA
The PlayStation 2 version has mipmaps, and quite a lot of them. I know because I converted many textures from PS2 format to PC format using my TxdGen tool. I love your work. Please continue it. I'd be glad if my tool simplified your work. PS: temporary download link: http://en.file-upload.net/download-10233594/txdgen_0.8.zip.html Contact me per private message if you need direct support. MrMateczko
Can TxdGen work in a similar way to DDS2TXD? i.e. I have some textures in a folder (.bmp, .png, .tga with alpha etc.) and I want to create a TXD with any compression I like, and any version I like? Jinx.
http://gtaforums.com/topic/764498-relopensrc-txdgen-rw-texture-converter/ Better ask on his topic, as asking here is pretty much offtopic.
