You have been added and I am not saying don't bring the sanchez just warning there is plenty of water about including water crossings. Count me In man Gt Hashtaggled. Got a mic, theme sand riding. One quesion. can we use the bodhi (trevors truck) Added to the list. As for the bodhi sure you can bring her along. I will say though there is some rock climbing involved so it may have some clearance problems but what vehicle doesn't lol.
yello cactus
I'm looking forward to this one I've got two cars to choose from...both have been tested and are looking good.. Do we have to stick with the same vehicle for the full session or are we able to swap mid way?
steve dogg 51
I've got to get thinking on this one, it's always a tough desicion as to which sandking to bring .... Mmmmm swb or xl. Can we bring two ? Let us know chewie.
yello cactus
ah yes....the Sandking...for those who like the easy approach to off roading.
bigd7775
I would rather you keep it to just 1 vehicle as this is a challenge to test the driver and their ride to the limits but if you think you can't handle it with just the one then yea you can bring another. Remember though if you do bring another there is a chance to forever be shamed.
yello cactus
ok mate. in that case i'm going to put the vehicle i think will perform the best back in the garage and use the one i think looks the best. MTBB47

bigd7775
You could use a couple that I would say count as a sand basher. I would say the patriot, mesa, seminole, dubsta, and beejay are semi sand bashers. The others I wouldn't count but I mean if someone shows up in something different I will not tell them to leave. My biggest thing is use your best judgement for a sand basher. What vehicles that GTA has to offer that when you do a google search for sand vehicles or something along those lines look at the vehicles the results come up with and try to match it with what gta has to offer. The goal we have is going around the alamo sea. So there is sand, rocks, rivers, and other obstacles. Don't bring what you are comfortable with. Try something different. Make it as challenging as possible. If I had the room in my garage I would personally do this in a dune buggy just so I can get the biggest challenge possible for myself and plus it looks like a sandrail lol. Anyways. Like I said just do what you think can do it but still give yourself a challenge. How can you become a better driver if you don't challenge yourself. Drive shaft is no longer a competition as it is a way to make yourself a better driver. After this event I am considering on cutting the lobby size down to a few people and making a list of specific vehicles that the drivers pick from and once that vehicle is claimed the others can't pick it. This is an ever evolving idea of mine and just going to see how things work out.

So like a Top Gear event that were popular on Forza where the host would pull a list of cars under $30,000 (for example) and people had to post which car they wanted - that car now crossed off the list. It doesn't work in GTA due to how expensive sh*t is but the host could also limit how much they could spend on a car, the event now consisting of sh*tty cars with a few cheap mods or someone who blew their whole budget on some sweet rims. Those were fun but the pricing ranges wouldn't work for GTA due to how unbalanced the economy is. You'd have to go by stats/tests. I'd be interested in this "sand bashing". So are we fighting the sandman from Spiderman or something? GT: DignifiedTick Mic: Yes Theme: Crabs In My Crack - Sand Galore! So are we fighting the sandman from Spiderman or something? GT: DignifiedTick Mic: Yes Theme: Crabs In My Crack - Sand Galore! Well the idea of this whole event thing was driven behind the idea of that show but instead of ripping off the name I called it this lol. But yes the problem you bring up about the economy is why I am just considering the idea and have considered it sense the beginning. Which is why I have started out by not going that route. I know I would not want to spend all my hard earned illegal funds on a maybe one time use. I will more than likely not go this route but it is still something that I want to test the waters with. I think there are people out there other than myself that would like to see vehicles go head to head while at the same time improve their ability as a driver. This event is ever evolving and I want to get people interested in maybe trying things that are out of the norm and I want to help people become a better driver in gta. From my own personal experience I started out just using a sandking for off-roading. For months that is all I would use. Finally I started hanging out and doing off-road races with bunkerbeast. I started trying out different vehicles. Now I rarely use my sandkings. I would rather use my rancher or my rebel or my mesa. I am just trying to get the message to the drivers in gta that breaking out of your norm can bring about some really awesome rides that you would never have thought to use before. Anyways I shall get you added to the list and shall see you there. Edit: Another thing I have considered is switching over to doing races that I created and setting it to a specific class. That way no one has to buy the vehicle they can just use the stock one. I would make the race so that all the stock versions can complete it. Again though this is just an idea I have had and am only considering at this time. Not gonna pull the trigger on anything just yet. yello cactus
I totally agree with trying different types of vehicles. I only use my Sandking when i'm going through water too deep for most other vehicles; Sandking = easy off-roading. Using stock vehicle races is a good idea as is specific class races. bigd7775
Alright I first want to start this off by apologizing to everyone. I know it isn't my fault that rockstar servers were not working right but I can still feel bad. The event started out with me talking to myself only to find out that the in game chat was not working. Also i found out tonight that xbox live parties are limited to only 8 people. Anyways the event started out very slow and late. Finally at about 7 I got most everyone in game and in chat that I could. From there I started the event with chewies vinewood tours. I was a little bit drunk in game from all the pibwasser. I accidently ended up stuck in a park and if it wasn't for a helpful passenger telling me how to get out we would have never made it to the airport. From there we took off in the private jet to trevor's airfield. Everything was going fine even being drunk until I screwed up my upside down flying and killed everyone. That was strike 2 of my night(seriously guys I was not meaning to kill ya there. I still feel really bad about that). Finally I sober up and try to get my act together and get everyone over to the airfield to start the voting. -insert pic- Here we have cactus winning the most authentic looking sand basher. -insert pic- Here we have spaz and his vehicle that had the most wear and tear from the drive to the airfield. -insert pic- Here we have tuna and his vehicle that was voted least likely to drown. -insert pic- Finally we have gle and his vehicle voted to most likely to have problems. After the voting we started along the path around the alamo sea. I had to stop a few times to add in late comers. We finally got to the north side of the alamo sea and that is where all hell broke loose. When I did my test around the sea I didn't run into a gang attack. However we were unfortunate this time. Sadly there were some casualties as we tried to pass by. That was strike 3 for me. Anyways after we got by we finally started doing some real off-roading. There were many sunk vehicles but all in all I hope everyone had some fun. I must say though that after tonight I am going to close down drive shaft for now. I was considering it anyways because I want to spend more time with my little one but after tonight's screw ups my decision has been made. Sorry again to everyone for the bad communication. Hopefully the next time I do decide to do something there wont be this issue. -insert pic- Here is a picture of the remaining members that survived it all. yello cactus
No need for apologies; the R* issues wasn't your fault. I liked the bus ride and plane ride and the fact that you crashed didn't matter as it was quite nice to open up the Bifta and drive there. No probs with that. I WON A VOTING CATEGORY!!!! GEDDIN!!! The actual challenge of going around the the Alamo was great. I love challenging myself with different vehicles. It would have been easy to use my Mesa and Sandking but the Bifta proved itself. It got over rocks which I thought would stop it in its tracks. I did of course need a few pushes from behind when i was wedged; thank you The Bifta however doesn't like water, drowning twice but other than that it was fine. The only slight and only slight issue was at points the lobby were very far apart. I personally like it when we stay closer together so we can either watch how people negotiate tricky sections, take photo's and generally help each other. In summary; another super meet. Cheers Chewie Photos and video to follow (i managed to get my capture card working mid session) Edited May 31, 2015 by yello cactus
bigd7775
cactus I did try to keep everyone in a group bad sadly there just wasn't always room to pull off and if I tried to stop to wait I would get pushed into the water and almost drown lol. Plus with coms not being the best it didn't help either lol. Also sorry everyone that I didn't come back to host races like I was planning. A storm came through and knocked out my net. I had 4g to make my post but can't get 4g on the ole xbox.
yello cactus
Mate, i was going to add that the separate groups were indeed a fallout of the communications issues but anyways, there were still people driving together to help each other out. It was only a minor thing which doesn't detract from a nice meet. But...when's the next meet? steve dogg 51
RemingtonSteals
Also the fact that quite a few of us turned our O/R vehicles into artificial reefs and had to go up to the road to get a new one. So funny to sink my truck and then swim out underwater to see other trucks down there We stuck together pretty well though - it was easy to catch back up to the group. Pretty amazing what the O/R vehicles can get through and over - I'm ready to do it again! Thanks to the Crew Leaders for their patience, rides up to the road and loaning of Sand Kings - you guys are the best! steve dogg 51 and Ph03nixxxx
