ghost of delete key
Guys, I survived, but only just. It was the most harrowing tale ever to happen to anyone ever... but I can't be assed to tell you the whole thing. Basically, Alligators in suits with chainsaws don't like to be petted by Mickie Mouse, that's all I'm saying. Heh... just be thankful some drunk bastard from the internet didn't steal your jeep and wreck it. ChumCrumpet
Since this thread was unlocked I thought I'd make a legitimate contribution. For those that don't know I'm a security guard and my shift is 10pm-6am and I've encountered some weird things over the years. Being the only one there it falls on me to check out certain disturbances be that a call from a resident or a suspicious noise. Now I'm a former football player(American) who's 6'5" and 284lbs. and I don't scare easily if at all, normally. However last month I hear a strange clacking sound almost like a horse walking on concrete which was weird in and of itself seeing as how I was on the boat dock at the time... Now me being the logical minded individual I am I think that's just the wind banging the flag poles(the rope attached to the flag clangs quite a bit when it's windy) so I head the 20 or so feet over to the poles and notice immediately that that sound is completely different from the earlier clacking I heard.(I'll admit that sent a chill up my spine) So towards the end of my shift(around 430am) I hear it again but this time outside my gatehouse... (I instantly think that somebody is f*cking with me) So I head out of the gatehouse only to find nobody... To this day I haven't heard that since and don't know the cause. Dude that's creepy as hell. Thanks for sharing. Maybe you were hearing the banging noises from the radiator that was heating up? It was probably the most innocent think ever. The elevator shifting back to ground position, the wind shaking some of those old windows, like I say the building is super old and it could have been ANYTHING, but the building just gives me the creeps and at night in a town that's foreign to me... I was just way out of my comfort zone, Node
am30
I used to spend a fair bit of time in empty buildings as part of a previous job. It's amazing how noisy an empty building can be with seemingly nothing to make any noise, especially when it's in an industrial estate. Then you into an area with no power or with no operational light fittings and your mind starts imagining things. I've seen me move pretty quickly on a few occasions over nothing. Crazyeighties
When I was 11 I was at my friends house when a home invasion happened I remember being in their basement and seeing the guy out of the corner of my eye I don't know if he knew we were there or not it was pretty scary. My Friends dad had a gun. Thankfully there was no need to use it Gnocchi Flip Flops
