Why can't I play the way I want as long as its within the confines R* laid out. R* have added options for those other players. Those players may not think they are adequate but thats life. I didn't read it like that. If he said that he wanted all public open lobbies to be friendly lobbies, then you might be right. But he didn't. He simply wants another public lobby option that doesn't revolve around PVP 24/7. He isn't forcing it on anyone or making it mandatory, wanting it to be the default lobby type for all players signing into GTAO. He simply wants an option. A tool that was used on other R* titles and worked well enough.

We have options, true, but there is a lot of room for improvement.

 

The OP's suggestion is not new, to say the least. I believe GTA 4 had it and that was like 6 or 7 years ago. Fact is you cannot join a public lobby anymore thinking you could play as you want, because there is always going to be a PVPer preventing it and controlling your gameplay. It's almost impossible to do anything except PVP in public lobbies.

 

Doesn't a friendly lobby option sound preferable to R* coming up with a new revised Bad Sport system or another revision to Passive Mode?

I don't think that font is big enough lol and if you're that concerned about people killing you, and there will always be people who will unless you're in a lobby with friends, so go into passive mode if you want to avoid that. that's all you can do, nobody's going to change the minds of the people who do that.

Wait, wait, that's the wrong argument to make.

Here's the deal. Invite Only, Closed Friend/Crew, you're restricted to the last 50 people you met, or the people in your list/crew. In public free-roam, you're not. There's a lot of people in the lobbies (before they switch to next-gen for just ONE GAME) and it's not exactly the same. If you want to get random-picked players all the time in Inv Only, you head to public, you go back, you invite them and you *hope* they accept.

We're doing all the work here, and meanwhile shooter people are just easily joining public. Passive players aren't even a minority. It's just that the vocal majority in GTAF are shooters.

Actually, I also disagree with the Q/A portion of the first post. It's quite uneven in argumentation. Sorry, splorsh.

 

You can answer all of them with the answer "It's a sandbox. There's no wrong method of playing a sandbox. We just want to protect the kids playing with sandcastles from kids who kick the sandcastles into their faces."

 

Also, "big boys don't cry" is unhealthy. There are emotional trauma that can be relieved, even slightly, by crying. Any gender, any age.

Let's skip to the important thing, which is lobby splitting. Let's be honest. It's split three ways. I'm in Traditional GTA. Some are in free-aim, that's understandable. But what the hell is Auto-aim? Traditional GTA IS AUTO-AIM, ROCKSTAR. You goddamn morons. You split it three ways FOR NO REASON.

 

My suggestion? Remove either Traditional GTA or Auto-aim, and when you add friendly lobbies, it's available only in auto-aim. Who the hell are you going to free-aim shoot at? Your car? The AI? That's boring, don't you think?

I play IO almost exclusively, and I've still met people.

 

Your best bet for finding random friendlies to start your own private "don't kill each other" lobbies, is to do co-op activities, wear a headset, and actually make the attempt to find people who are looking for a more casual time.

 

This forum is CoD nuts, kids and wanabe tough guy virtual murderers. You're not going to assuage them to a more relaxed atmosphere, no matter what you say.

 

I still only see really 6 pages of arguments, rather than an actual "discussion".
