I'm guessing in my game, I've blown up several PVs, perhaps in the area of 10-15 in the course of a week. I've never done that in one session, or even two.

 

Not sure if rank plays a factor (you being low, me being high) or not, but it's still interesting to me, none the less.

 

I wonder what would happen if someone in Bad Sport created a new account... would that new account be in Bad Sport, too?

People should only have to join the Bad Sport lobby if a player has filed a legitimate complaint against another player. The whole 'blowing up cars' thing is ridiculous - most of the time it's either an accident or an act of self-defense. It's flawed. Bad Sport should be saved for cheaters, modders, glitchers, griefers, racists, sexists and homophobes!

If you make a new PSN name like I did, you start all over. But yeah I blew up 10 PV (6 were without ppl in them). I wasnt trying to kill ppl, just blow up the cars. I also had 0$ so that might be a factor. It took about half an hour which Im sure is a factor. But for the true griefers, this could def be a warning.

 

On my main account (andrewr23 level 190) ive never been to BS. Ive been Dodgy player a few times though.

I hate the hypocrisy that comes with bad sport. People will use bulletproof rear cars to kill people. Someone defends themselves against it and they get in trouble ? Doesn't make any sense .

I get how someone like myself might deserve to be there . But there's people who've ended up there purely for playing defensively .

Bad sport needs to go. Its dumb. Although its so hard to get in i still think it's stupid.

Its so unwarranted what's so hard about calling mmi for a car claim you already pay for it.

as for leaving missions. If real life calls how are you a bad sport?

Yep, back to the way it was during the initial launch period. Trust me they are doing this because they are paying for practically empty bad sport servers. There are more people playing GTA IV multiplayer, than there are people playing in the bad sport lobbies. With those 30 player lobbies arriving next week, people will be spamming that report button like there is no tomorrow. You could have 20 members or more of a crew in one lobby spam report someone who isn't doing anything to anyone. Due to R*s idiotic automation system that puts people in bad sport for whatever the offense is, this will be rampant. To whoever thinks that everyone in bad sport deserves to be there, read my 5th sentence, I truly wish that upon you.

are you seriously suggesting that you think they have entire servers just for hosting bad sport lobbies? it's not a server per lobby you realise? they aren't going "uh oh no ones in the bad sport lobbies, we're wasting those 25 servers!"

I would love to know the mechanics behind getting into bad sport, as in the actual rules that govern it. I blow up the PV of everyone I get into something with, if it's there. I also sometimes slam my brakes on whilst driving past Mors Mutual and think, "what the hell", and blow up everything there. Yesterday I had a bit of a rampage and destroyed a lot of cars. There was a LOT of fighting. At one point I blew up 4 cars at Mors Mutual and 2 of them reappeared a few seconds later so I blew them up again. I easily, and I do mean very easily, blew up at least 30 vehicles yesterday. It was probably more like 40+.

 

I then got $2K for being a good sport.

 

I'm not trying to get into BS, but I don't seem capable. It must take a real concerted effort to get in there, so I'm thinking that people that get in there deserve it.

I agree, now it is fine, a year ago it was so broken. A friend of mine waited a full day before playing after fighting and blowing up some cars. Then he accidentally drove a car of a friend of his into a swimming pool that was only a tad too deep and bammm there was the dunce cap.

I'm on 'dodgy player' status ATM, would be on my third bad sport sentence if I hadn't noticed. My own fault for being such a weekend warrior and not spreading out the chaos a bit. But it's pretty much the result of self defence against maniacs who use their personal vehicles as weapons. When I'm able to record footage on the new version I look forward demonstrating what I mean. I think bad sport is necessary to an extent, but we shouldn't be punished for blowing up vehicles in self defence

Last time I was in bad sport for 32 days (August)... I called R* to attempt to lie to them about why I was given BS (told them I was only defending myself, when in actuality, I blow up cars for no reason) and see if they'd remove me as a 1 time courtesy...

 

They immediately saw through my lie, stating that I have over 1,100 PV's destroyed, and that "there is no way you are only defending yourself"... I didn't know at the time that R* kept a record of how many PV's you have destroyed, and I was shocked at my #.

 

I mentioned I have been playing since online was released, and I didn't feel that was a big # compared to my time playing... They said that's around 100 cars per month (at the time) and because of that, determined I was not only defending myself, but HAD to be blowing up cars on purpose. Lolol!

 

Call them and ask about your situation, just for sh*ts and giggles... You might be surprised to find out how many PV's you have destroyed. Lol

In the past month or so, I can only imagine I've blown up about 30 cars or so. Is that a lot? I don't know.

 

I'd be curious, as said above, as to the mechanics of Bad Sport. There's gotta be more to it than blowing up cars and running over Passive players.

 

That said, I run over a boatload of NPCs (I use them to repaint my car). Is it possible they are connected with this Bad Sport mechanic? Hmm..

I never, to this day been in bad sport. But the way you all make it sound makes it sound like a 24/7 riot.

 

I once heard a story of a guy who went into bad sport and witnessed tanks patrolling empty streets. There is no such thing as casually walking. You must run to your PV and go to your destination only. There is no stopping because everyone in the session wants to kill you any way possible. It sounds like a warzone.

I was in it last year for a couple of days. That was at the time when you only had to look at someone's car and you got put in there. Maybe they scrapped any data relating to it since it was clearly broken. I've been in the CP as well for a couple of days, so I've definitely not got a clean record.

That would make some sense, at least. I always pay for what I destroy, unless I take my time and don't get the blame for it, so maybe it doesn't leave as bad a stain on your reputation if you pay.

I have to wonder if it has more to do with quitting the mission than blowing up the PV. Maybe a combination, blow up PV, other player reports you or votes to kick, and quitting the mission. I dont do missions anymore, or free roam much, just death matches. Over 13k player kills, and never hesitated to blow up a reversing PV, yet never sent to BS or even changed to dodgy.

Like I said, 100+ cars a month is OVERKILL... 30 is not that much, but tack it onto the rest of your play time, and you could be at a giant total # (maybe like 500, but who knows)

I created a second character, just out of curiosity. A sexy, auburn-haired lady character in a little bikini. growwr!

 

However, after creating the character and launching the game, she had a dunce cap on. As said previously, I think I'd have to open an entire new account to get out of Bad Sport, but seriously...

i have been a millionaire since november 2013 and i have been through bad sport 5 times for PV destruction.

 

in a perfect world, you wont receive bad sport aslong as you have money to cover the insurance cost.

 

the current system is nothing but double punishment!
