Harryhenry
When I was playing the beta, the ONLY thing I did (aside from a mission or two) was drive from the east coast, to the west coast, (And vica-versa) because doing that is so f*cking awesome! The atmosphere of driving across many different terrain is so good, that it makes me wish Rockstar would do something like this for the next gta game! Daz
Can you even powerslide in this game? If the driving is anything like TDU2 (though it was a good game) that will make me sad. All I ever want out of driving games is a free roamable map, with good suspension and body roll, with great powersliding options. I can't stand racers that nail the cars down like a f*cking rock. From what I have seen so far I have not seen any drifting. I am not asking for much, just some decent physics for driving with full camera control. If they combined the driving from Driver: SF with the map styling and free roamyness of the challenges and gameplay from TDU2 then I would be happy. (Seeing as it is being made by parts of the teams who made both those games.) Someone link me to a video to impress me. RyanBurnsRed
During the PC beta I tried drifting with some of the cars you get to choose at the beginning. I found it to be a little hard with some cars, but I think it's possible if you have the patience to learn it. Daz

I don't get people's problems with this. You obviously have an internet connection if you're on GTA Forums. My PS3/PS4 have been constantly connected to PSN as far as I can remember. Daz
During the PC beta I tried drifting with some of the cars you get to choose at the beginning. I found it to be a little hard with some cars, but I think it's possible if you have the patience to learn it. I don't mind a game being difficult, it was just annoying in TDU2 where whenever you would try to do it, it would almost be a timed and fixed animation, that it felt like you were never in control of the car at that point, it just did it's own 2 second slide and then whipped back into place, yet in Driver:SF you could slide all the way round a bend on a dirt track no problem and feel like you were in control of keeping the slide. It's sooo sad that this game needs a constant online connection. I would want to play it so badly. Stupid video game industry trends. sh*t, that f*cking sucks. I get that you would want other people driving around in the world but there is no reason for such a thing. (Sorry to mention it again, even though it is the same devs) In TDU2 it had a similar structure of having other players driving around the map, however when you were offline it would just revert to AI drivers. I don't see how that could be an issue, I don't see why we couldn't just drive around the map offline? If that is the case the game doesn't have much use to me. A game like Defiance, though I am not comparing the two games, was an online only MMO experience, and despite the game being great, there were countless times I would get super pissed off that the servers were down, or were getting kicked off for no reason. Online only sh*t brings with it a whole mess of problems, and seeing that all I want this game for is to just drive around aimlessly by myself. I doubt it is the ideal game for me. Someone link me to a video to impress me. (That isn't 2 months old.) no you Shut up, c*nt. I am asking the nerds of this topic for what they have seen to be decent, not for someone to google search for me. I am not going through hours of beta footage to find a gem that someone in here might already know about. So kindly, eat sh*t. thnx. Daz
^^ I really don't agree with him saying it is even remotely like GTA4 or GTA5 and the camera is definitely not like that. I saw some better gameplay from the IGN guys, which was a better representation of the driving, it looks like you could have some ok powersliding on dirt tracks but I really didn't see anything good sliding wise, in any video, it seems like there really isn't drift, there seems to be too much grip for it to let you slide properly like you can in GTA4 or GTA5. Not even the camera, like he says. The camera seems like it is either forward, left right or back, there is no fluidness to the movement of it like in GTA, which is a problem because I almost always drive in GTA using the camera 100% of the time to angle around the car when going round corners and just for style to see the side a little bit. I don't think I can live with a nailed down, yet wobbly camera. I do like that the car repairs over time and that you can change car on the fly where you are at in the world, which really helps, so it might be good for something, especially how massive the map actually was from their videos. Still unsure yet. No half decent sliding makes or breaks a game for me. IGN video for example: Edited August 19, 2014 by Daz Flachbau
Flachbau
There's a cockpit mode? Oh my god! I never really knew that before.. well maybe I have. I forget things easily I noticed something recently, I wonder how many discs this will ship with for 360. It's a huge game.. I hope it's like GTA V, where you install the secondary discs and then just play with the first one. No interruptions at all. Flachbau
Nah.. more than 4 discs would be ridiculous http://www.vg247.com/2011/03/30/report-new-disc-format-for-xbox-360-adds-1gb-of-space/ Apparently, 6.8GB can be loaded with game data on the current discs for 360. I don't know the size for The Crew on any other platform.. but maybe it could be done with 3 discs only. Payne Killer
