Tycek
Thanks for the video. It confirmed the things I was afraid of. If the Challenger is prime example of the customisation in the game, then I may as well get it somewhere in the future from the bargain bin. Too many hype with so little things to actually back it up. I don't understand. it seems like there's a lot of custom options to play with. what exactly are you disappointed in? Not that hard to guess if you look closer on the video. We were told we will be able to build our car, to swap every part, to make it personal and fitting our needs. Was it really showed in the video? We got a nice selection of paints, predefined vinyls and interiors, which is cool, but the rest is really not that great. We got a lot of rims, but if you look closely we got barely one fourth of them, because rest is just recolor (just 4 colors), not to mention you can change size of rims and tires. We got a lot of bumpers, but they are almost the same (different lips and/or halogens), so in result we got two different fronts and two different backs for your car. Quite small number. And in addition many parts are not there. "This is empty." etcetera, etcetera. I guess other cars will be using these categories, but others will be empty in their case. It doesn't really look that great. Game got two biggest selling points: big map covering whole USA and building car by changing everything you want. Sounds like a perfect game, doesn't it? Build your own personal car and race around the whole US. First point just fell down, because the customisation isn't really much better than MCLA. Sure it wasn't perfect there, but the game came out 6 years ago, and you could change a lot more than in The Crew (at least in some cars). Maybe it didn't looked as eye-candy as it was shown here (car dismantling and getting back together), but sometimes nice paper isn't enough if the candy is a bit sour. El Dildo
We were told... ok yeah but really. you've gotta' realize at some point that developers say a lot of things and dream big during hype phase. you should learn to take their words with a grain of salt before seeing the final product, like the rest of us We got a lot of rims, but if you look closely we got barely one fourth of them, because rest is just recolor (just 4 colors), not to mention you can change size of rims and tires. Game got two biggest selling points: big map covering whole USA and building car by changing everything you want. Sounds like a perfect game, doesn't it? no, actually it doesn't. because there's no such thing as the 'perfect' game. there's your problem right there. you've pre-judged everything, you're bound to be dissatisfied... Guest
People actually cared about taking the car apart and putting it together? lol As far as customisation goes, I only need a few bodykits and a decal editor but apparently that's too much to ask for. I'm judging the game by what I see or hear. If the developers can't keep their mouth shut and had to brag about things that aren't really there, which wasn't the first time in Ubisoft case, it's their problem. If I would have to take everything with grain of salt, then what's the point of trailers and previews, since all of them can be considered as bullsh*t. Just say what you really have there, instead of making some stuff up and then be surprised that people are bitching about your game (like in Far Cry 2/3, AC, Watch_Dogs, etc.) Edited July 28, 2014 by Tycek

SuperVeloce
In all fairness, it is only a beta, so more customisation could be included or unlocked in the full game, and I wasn't that high a level in game, so perhaps there was more to be unlocked. Watching back I noticed that some of the bumpers looked the same on the selection, so perhaps they were placeholders. I thought it was pretty good, especially the interior trim selection and standard rims, puts me in mind of the manufacturer customisation from TDU and TDU2, which is nice. You can tell it's been developed by some of the same people who made TDU thats for sure, which is certainly no bad thing. Damn, I spent ages on the beta and really didn't see that much of the US. So much I'm seeing now that I missed. Hope there's another chance for the beta to be playable again.

MattDet
Here's a gameplay video featuring Detroit-from this, I can tell that some suburban and farmland areas of Michigan will also be featured, including one of my former hometowns, Dearborn-though much of Dearborn looked a lot more lively and more upkept than in the game, when I lived there and today. But I did notice one mistake-there is a neighborhood called "West English Village"-and I know it's actually called "East English Village", though I've only crossed that far into Detroit's east side about, like, five times in my life. Clevelander
The cities are bigger and more detailed than I thought they'd be. Like, Detroit looks nearly exactly like it does in real life. That hyped me up a lot.
SuperVeloce
You can try get into the beta by applying on the website, but I'm not sure if they'll be giving keys away again. They might do to try get some more new people into the second beta though so might be worth a shot. LightningLord

MattDet
So I registered through the blue arrow link and after completing it I got this: "You will receive an email confirmation if you’re chosen to participate in the PC closed beta starting August 25th." So is beta participation included as part of the registration or do we still have to sign up for the beta?

MattDet
can you read English? it says that they will email you the confirmation "if you’re chosen to participate in the PC closed beta." Of course-since every place I've ever lived in was in America. But still, once they choose me to participate in the beta, once again, after I install it and log in-isn't Detroit the city you start out in? If it is, then I might do a joyride around there and see if any place I'm familiar with is in the game-and see if Wyandotte's in there too, since it's where I currently live.
