Downloading it right now, you can actually play it near the beginning of the installation but I'd rather wait for it to finish first. I signed up, but didn't get anything so far. Is it on PC only? Not sure how many people they sent keys to, but if they have an open beta then you should try it. Personally I'm not big on racing games, but it is kinda fun. Like I said the cities are more like small hubs...they aren't to scale...just a few famous landmarks here and there, but the distance is great. On the map Chicago is literally right next to Detroit, but it takes a good 5 minutes to get there. From Detroit to LA is 66 in-game miles, but it takes a good 10-15 minutes.. I like it, but I don't see myself buying it simply because it's not my type of game really, but it's enjoyable for awhile. The only thing I don't understand is the points system used for the main missions... even if I get first place, I still need a certain number of points to get the gold medal/award. I have no idea what to actually do during the race to get more points though. When I drift or near miss a car, the little counter at the bottom left of the screen doesn't show up like it does in free roam...so I'm guessing they aren't counted in the main races. So I'm stumped on how to get the gold medals seeing as how I need better parts to upgrade my car to continue the story. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What I dont like atm is, that you cant change rim size or make low profile tires like you could in Midnight Club, NFS, Forza and so on. El Dildo Posted July 23, 2014 Share Posted July 23, 2014 I could care less about the soundtrack because I'll be listening to my own music most of the time. this game just looks bad ass. most racing games are good at the racing part and terrible at the community part. Anyway, I will admit that this game looks pretty cool. It's actually what I wanted in an open world racing game for the longest, but the fact that it's an MMO is what I don't like about the game. I'm all for playing online with friends, but what if you want play by yourself for a bit or your friends just aren't on at the time your playing? Will there be a way to play in a lobby by yourself? The driving physics are pretty good yeah, kind of put me in mind of TDU HC mode but a improved, and without low gravity haha. Much better than TDU2s thats for sure. Will be better on a controller, as I'm only using a keyboard as my DS3 emulator will not work for The Crew. Story is better than TDU2's "Solar Crown" which isn't hard to beat. There are few roads above LA in the video (5:30 onwards I believe) that kinda remind me of GTA V. Nice of them to drop the NDA of course. There's lots of things happening to add to the "immersion". AI peds walking, animals in the wild and boats, aeroplanes and hot air balloons flying above.
