Woll Smoth
That online only crap is what killed the game for me. The game has an interesting concept and all, but I hate the fact that it's online only. I don't like the idea of getting kick off my game - THAT I PAYED FOR - just because I lost a signal. So like Bonnano said, "f*ck this game." Bonnano

You should never play any coop game or online shooter then. Its an online game and that was always the case in online game, that you get kicked when you lost the connection. Guest
Microtransactions? f*ck this game. Not bothered about getting on release now. Will have to wait and see if these "microtransactions" are game-breaking or not. Knowing Ubisoft though, they definitely will be.
GTA DUDE05
The Crew Release date & Official Gameplay Premiere Trailer!!! The publisher made the announcement Tuesday, after which it distributed The Crew's official gameplay premiere trailer. The video shows a group of racers blitzing through the game's seamless interpretation of the continental US. The PC, PS4, and Xbox One title was originally set to release in the first quarter of 2014. Ubisoft pushed The Crew back to mid-2014 in October. The Crew's official gameplay premiere trailer Ubisoft announced today that its Xbox One/PlayStation 4/PC racing game The Crew will launch this fall and, like many other racing games, it will support microtransactions. The Crew's microtransaction system will let you buy new performance parts with real money. Of course, you can unlock these items through standard progression. Ubisoft says the paid performance parts are aimed at players who might be pressed for time. "We can confirm that performance parts can be unlocked through progression as well as microtransactions," a Ubisoft representative told VideoGamer. "All content can be unlocked through progression, but for busy gamers who want to save some time, they will have the opportunity to buy some items in-game." Sony's Gran Turismo 6 for PlayStation 3 supports microtransactions, as does Microsoft's Xbox One racing game Forza Motorsport 5. The Crew will also run in native 1080p at 30fps for Xbox One and PS4, creative director Julian Gerighty told Videogamer. You can preorder The Crew today for Xbox One and PS4 across two versions: the Limited Edition and the Muscle Edition. The Limited Edition includes early access to cars like the BMW Z4 sDrive35is, Mini Cooper S, and Dodge Ram SRT-10. Meanwhile, the Muscle Edition--available only at GameStop--will include everything from the LE, as well as early access to the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. Both versions include 10,000 bonus "Crew Credits." The standard version of The Crew will sell for $60, but Ubisoft did not say how much the Limited Edition or Muscle Edition will cost. In addition. the premium bundles were only announced for Xbox One and PS4, not PC. For more on The Crew, be sure to read GameSpot's new hands-on preview. I<3GTAV
I'm still getting it, online only or not, micro-transactions or not. It still looks like a really fun game.
Creed Bratton
Yeah, I don't trust Ubisoft with their servers and I sure as hell am not going to support a full priced game with microtransactions.
FranklinDeRoosevelt
Well aside from the fact that the micro-transactions are optional, the things they include in them are very very pathetic and a desperate move. Selling car parts for real money? That's real low Ubi.

Woll Smoth
^ Haha, same. I actually lost all hype for this when that online only stuff surfaced. It sucks too, because this game looks like it'd be fun. Edited June 13, 2014 by Woll Smoth

tuareg
One thing i'm really not liking is the fact that the camera doesn't follow the car as it's turning. It just stays in one place while the car turns left/right on the screen. That really sucks in a driving game. It happens occasionally in V and it drives me up the wall. Except with V it's my crummy 360 controller while here it seems to be a default camera view. Here's hoping that the level of customization expands to game settings as well. mareepx
To all the people complaining about online only, I haven't played my ps3 or ps4 without being connected to the internet ever, and I've only been booted offline once. It's not like you lose all your stuff if you lose connection mid game. There will be frequent saving.
_Kindled_
Well, the micro-transactions are really disapointing. I hope Ubisoft removes that immediately. But they probably wont. I still want to play this game and race across America, if that's asking for too much. Smaher.

It's not like you lose all your stuff if you lose connection mid game. There will be frequent saving. That's you, not me. And my problem is not losing any progress, it's the fact that you cant play the game when your not connected - which is pretty stupid. So with the crappy connection I get out where I live, that would be troublesome. I was under the assumption that this was an MMO. Why are people bitching that it's online only? Because online only sh*t is stupid, IMO. Edited June 15, 2014 by Woll Smoth

RyanBurnsRed
I'll drive to LA first, and compare it to Los Santos in GTA V.... The cities aren't to scale. Only a few famous landmarks here and there. They are more like small hubs than anything. Detroit is literally right next to Chicago, and the east coast is only a few KM away from Detroit. But you can drive anywhere you want without a single loading screen, so I think that's pretty cool. So far it's like a combination of Burnout Paradise, Test Drive Unlimited, and Driver. The handling of some cars are pretty good. The muscle cars are atrocious though. The torque causes fish tailing when trying to drift or flooring the gas when coming out of a corner. The first one, well, I don't plan on spending real life money on parts myself, but I don't have a problem with allowing people to advance faster if they want. In fact, I think more games could benefit if they allowed people to pay for unlocks/xp. The second one... well, duh. It's an MMO. Anyways, yeah, I'm super excited for this game. It's the racing game that I've always wanted. Free roaming with my friends in a big location with lots of environments and a ton of customization. This is the game that will give NFS a run for it's money and hopefully get those NFS devs to actually innovate more. No more copy/paste crap.
