Fireman
This game is in this months humble bundle, I've been wanting to try it, but not for full-price, or even 50% off. $15 for The Crew, Far Cry 3 (also never played that) and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, was a better deal in my opinion. So will give this a go now. Mister Pink

CReaper210
Well, I purchased this game. $20 for the full game+wild run expansion. I've put 15-20 hours in so far and I think the game is great. Best arcade racing game I've played in a while. Great variety in vehicles, decent customization, big and interesting map, lots of things to do, an actual story with cutscenes. It's not the best racing game ever, but it's definitely a great game. For sure better than the last ~5 NFS games for anyone that is reading this and looking for something like that. For reference, some of my favorite racing games are NFS Underground 2, the original Most Wanted, and Midnight Club 3. The Crew is really close to being on the same level as some of those games IMO. To me, it would need a few more things like some more and better music, more customization(more types of bumpers, spoilers, rims, color options, lights, customizable vinyls/stickers, windows tinting, etc.), more epic modes(like canyon races in NFS Carbon, 1v1 highway races in NFS Undercover, etc.) and I know having weird modes like these are difficult in racing games, but it's been done before and I think they could work well in this game. Overall, really happy with the game. Definitely worth the $20 I spent on it and it exceeded my low expectations I had for the game, so I'm happy. luisniko
I only need Z4 for Street, Perf, Raid and Focus for Dirt. lol They're cheap and reliable as proven by me. Currently sticking with Viper GTS for Circuit. But probably I'll have to make my Z4 into Circuit. Got all the hotrods and buggy. Love them, except for the Dirt and Raid type. Sakshi
The Crew features an open and persistent for racing and free-roaming across a scaled-down recreation of the contiguous United States. The Crew creative director Julian Gerighty has called the game a role-playing game with large scale multiplayer elements. The multiplayer is not separate from the single-player. Players can form crews to race together or against ghost records.

Fireman
Eh I still don't really have a judgement on this, I mean, you're literally a car, instead of a person inside a car, which is kind of a big deal to me. The racing is fun, I truly won't ever understand the cruisin' people. There is also no community, I tried using chat a couple of times, never got a response, even when baiting people. Don't like that half the content is behind a pricetag neither. If not more than half. I mainly do the challenges and objectives, driving around the city isn't really appealing if there's nothing happening. luisniko
Yeah I always do solo and do Skills to upgrade my car. The price tags are as shameless as GTAO so that puts me back off from customizing stuff. Currently Level 50 and the Platinum reward system is total BS. But at least they give big chance to unlock parts for free, although it's ridiculously stupid if you are trying to upgrade your car parts. I don't really care about the community. Half of the people who came across me are just jerkbags who like to ram other people's car. So far, I haven't bought any DLC, Wild Run unlock, or Crew Credit. Even my game is 2nd hand and I'm glad it is 2nd hand. Edited February 11, 2016 by luisniko

There is an entire story centered on you, Alex, getting revenge. From a gameplay perspective, there is a cockpit view and you can also see yourself in the car in third person(only mentioning this because there are, in fact some games where it is quite literally a car driving itself). Maybe you meant something else that I don't understand? Edited February 12, 2016 by CReaper210
Fireman
You're a bland guy with no personality. The storyline barely exists because you're never outside of your car. Who the hell exits a car, just to get inside another car, to ram a vehicle in ways of taking revenge. It all makes no sense to me, but then again, racing games are pretty much always like that.I was expecting to see emotions portrayed by a face rather than a car driving faster or slower, at the very least in cutscenes. I think the first cutscene had a face somewhere, but that wasn't enough.
luisniko
Go check the back of the box. It says that YOU are your vehicle. Vehicle is your avatar. Alex is just a character to fill in the background story. When you're cruising or being off story, you can say you're not Alex anymore. Nobody is Alex. Or you can say, you are Alex, but nobody else is, although they're playing is Alex.
RedDagger
I like that part of the crew, it doesn't pretend to have a serious storyline worth thinking about, it's this ridiculous thing that goes "okay enough of that back to the game" and now you're driving again. Not every game needs to have a focus on story, and The Crew is a good example of that. Gnocchi Flip Flops

Or you can say, you are Alex, but nobody else is, although they're playing is Alex. Back when I was a kid in the '70s playing with my Match Box cars, this is how it was. I didn't have little people, they just drove around and spoke to each other from the driver's seat. It made sense then, and it made perfect sense in the Crew. Never bothered me in the slightest. I saw Wild Run was onsale (is still?) at the PSN Store, but didn't do it. I enjoyed the Crew, I spent $29 on it last year and got ever penny's worth from it. However, Wild Run just doesn't seem ot have the same appeal. Am I missing out? I am in a gaming funk, the last two "critically accalimed" games left me cold (Witcher 3 and Fallout 4), and I need something to amuse me... On the other hand, I feel liek I'm holding out for The Division which, after years of waiting, better be good and that's only what, 4 weeks away? luisniko
Too bad without story mission and skill challenge (which is killed by the current Platinum system), this game boring imo. Not many cars have my interest (those supercars again..) while some of the interesting one is locked behind their Disc Locked Content gate. This game is standing in between Sell and Keep pits right now. Edited February 16, 2016 by luisniko Ivan1997GTA
Mister Pink
Really thinking of picking up this game. I was a fan of TDU2's concept, despite it being flawed but I love the idea of the map size and variety that comes with it. I can sacrifice graphical quality if the game is fun and simply because I know the map is huge. RedDagger
Aye, the graphics are pretty impressive in that regard, they stand up well on their own, even. My main problem in terms of looks is distant objects - and I mean very, very distant ones...the textures are lower quality than they should be, and sometimes the LODs are completely wrong meaning the object disappears when you get closer to it But those are minor complaints, it's fantastic in that regard, plus when you teleport to the other side of the map it loads in seconds even on my HDD, I should try it on my SSD. Takes a bit of time to understand the mechanics of everything, though. Also worth messing around with the options - I've turned most of the HUD and notifications off because there's far too many, and the default driving assist setting is really annoying in that it tries too hard to keep your car driving straight on the road (even in raid vehicles) and makes you wobble like a madman - switching to sport stopped both of those, plus decreasing the steering deadzone was nice. It's good that they let you have those options, at least Mister Pink and Ivan1997GTA
Mister Pink
Yeah I wasn't having a dig at the graphics.. but compared to NFS, Forza, GT and all the other games. Graphics aren't everything for me. Great, well, the price has come down, so I'll defo give it a go. 🅵🅴🅽🅸🆇 🅵🆄🅽🅺 🅵🅸🆅🅴
tuareg
The graphics upgrade was great. I never cared for how the game looked, but it was free and it does look better. The only thing that bums me out is that the raid spec handles exactly the same way as the dirt spec does. I'm not an expert of motorsports, but raid vehicles should have the suspension to handle off road. Yet if you hit the slightest angle while driving off-road you go flying. Homemade Dynamite
Does anyone else think it's kind of odd that they've haven't announced the sequel yet? Given how Ubisoft operates, I'm surprised they're still supporting the first game instead of trying to promote the next. Ivan1997GTA
Tycek
Not really, as I don't see much point in such decision. Since The Crew is based on rules similar to F2P, they may just increase the game longevity by producing relatively cheap and quick to make add-ons, instead of producing full-fledged sequel. Also there is not much content-wise you may add except new races and vehicles (which are added quite regularly). Map is really huge, even if it's misses many well known places and the USA isn't going to enlarge any time soon to justify creating new title for the map. And while they could set the game in Europe for example, it would mean risking a lot of money for no potential income, since the original title wasn't well received. Homemade Dynamite
It may have not received the best reviews, but that doesn't change the fact that over 9 million people have played it, so there's definitely interest in the title. It also means there is a room for improvement. There's all sorts of locations around the world they could use, and I'd love to see that.
