I always reach 61 or 62 then lose constantly so I get bumped down to 57-59.

 

Sucks because apparently if you're 65 or higher when the season ends you get 300 competitive points which is an automatic gold gun for whoever you want. I don't give a rat's ass about the gold guns since 300 competitive points is nuts, but I wouldn't mind one.

I did my placement matches and won 7(?) out of 10. Might've been 8 I really can't remember. Regardless I went crazy try hard mode and placed exactly at 60. I couldn't back down so I tried pushing to 65 only to drop down to 53 at one point.

 

And then, I discovered Pharah. Holy lord I dont know if its just how I play her but I am unstoppable with her and carried my team as her ONLY from 53 all the way to 65. I had a 12 game win streak going it was insane.

 

Hardest I ever carried was on Gibraltar defense. 78 elims. 2 deaths. 96 direct impacts. My team was Hanzo, Zarya, Zen, Widow, and a Torb. None of them could do anything. Their team? Rein, Lucio, Ana, Zen, 76, Reaper. Was without a doubt the best game I've ever had. Gave me 65. Free gold gun worth it

I dunno dude, Reinhardt may be huge but an attacking Lucio would be a lot faster. I feel Reinhardt would especially have a tougher time getting a ball that's going over his head.

Wow, a jump from 53 to 65 is pretty damn impressive. So is the fact that you kept up faith after a huge drop.

I kinda feel lucky because I also won 7/10 of my placement matches and was placed at like rank 58. After that, I raised up to level 65 before sh*t started hitting the fan. I'm now level 61 and haven't got those levels back and won't because of the summer event. BUT thankfully they count your highest rank and not the current, so I can look forward to getting the 300 CP.

I doubt I'll buy a golden gun anytime soon . Not interested in them and I'd rather wait and see if I can use the points for something else.

Goddamn, the hype was flowing throughout the entire match.

 

 

Wasn't even a blowout. We almost lost during Sudden Death but I kept contesting as hard as I could, and I could tell that enemy D. Va was really, really hating me. Then the greatest Zenyatta in the world pulls off four kills in a row right near the delivery point of the payload, shutting the enemy team down harder than ever. I love having competitive matches like this where both teams are viable, rather than just one stomping the other. Actually helps me do a lot better cause I really care.

But yeah I pulled off 53 to 65 in two days. I was doing some immense carrying at times. As bad as I feel, I hawkeye the enemy teams support and just dog them the whole game. Its so easy to make a push or hold em back when they have no source of heals. Makes it somewhat easier on your teammates espeically when they can't hit a roadhog point blank

I did 25 or 27K damage as Bastion yesterday and thought I'd get on the board for sure, but a Pharah beat me at 30K damage. Problem with Pharah is that her best counters are McCree and Ana. But nine times out of then when a good Pharah is blowing everyone up, some nerd is already playing as McCree so I can't switch to him and deal with her. Literally the only thing I like how two of the same hero in quick play.

Yeah if someone beats me to D.Va I'll usually go Luccio. Surprised how little people I encounter that play him. And at this point 2 healers is almost a requirement to win.

I got called a smurf today after finishing a match as Roadhog with 80% hook accuracy, 18 enemies hooked, and 31 eliminations. feelsgoodman

 

Forgot how satisfying it was harassing the enemy team with the based hook.

Bruhhhh i hate how people talk about Genji like he's the hardest thing to use. His abilities are overbearing and I see 2 Genjis a match, per team and with Zen's discord orbs he can pick off healers like Mercy with little effort.

Don't know how Phara's doing on console but here on PC people tend to avoid picking her. She seems to be pretty weak especially after the McCree and Zen buff.

So many Pharahs only get kills with their ults, it's quite hilarious. And like I said before, when there's a good Pharah there's never a damn good McCree or Ana to shut her down. Or even a decent Soldier 76 at least to scare her away.

 

Torb is all about placement on consoles now. I still use him and while I don't get a ton of finishing blows, I do a lot of damage still and help out the team. Also his gun is no argument, one of the best in the game and so underrated so I love shutting down Tracers and Reapers with it.

Yeah the game is a whole new world on console. When I watch competitive high ranking PC games its a game of "Protect the Genji. Watch out for Genji. Stop their Genji. Genji ult be careful. Amp the Genji." His team wiping capabilities with his ridiculous deflect and sword hitbox make him waaaay too good in the right hands. On console he's just as bad, if not worse, solely due to aiming limitations. I hope he gets looked in some way. Even just an ult duration nerf.

 

But yeah way different on console. People tend to pick the less aim heavy characters in high ranks. Pharah being one of these. Solely cause she's so hard to hit out of the air. Almost unstoppable with a pocket Mercy on her.

 

I want Widowmaker back the way she was pre-nerf on console. She's one of the lowest pick rates right now down there with Symmetra. Its just so hard to use her since she has 0 aim assistance while in the scope. Doesn't stop me from playing her. Still my most played and I'm lethal with her

Started playing this again today after a lengthy absence. Thought I might give ranked matches a go but seeing as the season ends tomorrow, I've left it a bit late. Although having seen it, have to keep playing to unlock the McCree Olympic skin.

I am also missing McCree's Olympic skin and it's the only pink skin that I don't have as of yet. Also still need to get one of the tracer skins and then I'll be happy what with I got skin wise.

 

Somehow I hope I can get some more of the smaller things before the event ends.

Now that the season is over, I hate having to play goddamn Quick Play again. Already lost cause we had two Hanzos, ugh. I hope the next season starts again soon so I can stop playing this nonsense.

I unlocked most of the summer skins. Tracer's skins are annoyingly difficult to acquire when you have 10+ legendaries to unlock lol. I always get my hopes up when I see a yellow circle spinning only to be disappointed by either a non-summer legendary skin or get rekted by duplicate of a summer skin ;_;

Bought 16 loot boxes today but didn't get the McCree skin. Every purple light was a glimmer of hope that was then dashed. Did get the Genji and Weightlifter Zayra ones so that's something. Kind of wish they'd done a Olympic themed skin for each character, like a Zenyatta shot putter or a Roadhog hammer thrower.

Also managed to get the trophy for 4 kills with D.Va's ult. Boosted it into the centre shrine bit on Nepal as a last ditch effort and got the 4 kills plus a couple of traps.
