If it's got a slow charge/reload rate but it's got ridiculous firepower, then it could be the ultimate tank/jet nerf... Not exactly something you'd whip out in close-quarters urban combat, but if you've got one shot against a tank/heli/jet-tard, then it'd be ideal...

 

Yeah, because the idea of giving every Tom, Dick and Harry enough shoulder-carried firepower to shoot down a fighter jet in one shot isn't a horrible f*cking idea. Honestly, the tards in the equation are you whiners who piss and moan about Lazers at every given opportunity, not the pilots who you get owned by.

Considering I can heavy snipe a pilot out of a plane I'm not exactly bitching about them because they're such a menace to me myself.. but when you have one destroying every other player in a session because they're lower level or not capable, it does scream overkill...

So it's ok for one player to be able to have one shot kills (in the form of explosive rounds and splash damage at that), yet a one shot weapon requiring skill to aim tou counter that is anathema to you? Astounding logic to say the least.

So basically a one-shot (laser) weapon with massive damage with a recharge delay on it. The Q3 railgun has customisable laser colors and "recharge" colors (that's why it looks so dumb in the video, purple and yellow lol) but the default one is red.

You can see Trevor using a Glock in the Shooting Range part of the GTA V gameplay trailer. Pause it. It even has it's own sounds. So no. It wasn't a reused prop. It was erased without leaving any hints behind.

i imagined railgun ( prior introduction ) was eletrical projectile that behaves like stun gun but powerful shocks and long range ( hold like minigun ) . this one i imagine can kill any engine / eletric based vehicle by direct hit of the bolts

Bring it on, the more weapons the better , sure it might not fit with the GTA universe but don't forget for example GTA SA Has a dildo as a melee weapon, which ppl would argue that's more of a saints row thing , if anything the rail gun will mostly like act like the one in MGS

The glock was most likely a carry over from IV (the pistol was a glock)

some of the weapons from IV were carried over but then replaced/removed

Fun fact for ya, the models from IV are actually higher poly than the ones in V

so if it does actually on next gen online , obviously overpowered fully armored & highest durability of overpowered players like lui calibre is example wearing 100% armor , bulletproof helmet , maxed HP & 100/100 STR ?

 

if yes , this means the weapon are "Anti-Human Weapon"

if no , then it should be safe at online , at which completely balanced

^ Theoretically, yes. If reality was a factor, this gun can reach across San Andreas in seconds. Everything is hitscan in this game though, so this gun would probably still be unpractical compared to the Heavy Sniper.

 

@Sky_Light, Hard to say at this point. It could be like Halo 4's rail gun where it can OHK people with ease, or it could be like Metal Gear Solid where vehicles are also in danger, but with the size of this gun, I doubt it would have the power to destroy cars with single-digit rounds. No way of knowing until gameplay of the gun comes around.

I love how it looks, it's just one of those weapons that simply sounds so stupid and absurd that I have always wanted it but never had the courage to ask for, but now that it's confirmed, I can't wait to use it! Looks like some Fallout-esque level of futuristic firearm badassery, and I hope it performs accordingly.

I hope it is available online. I don't know why you would be afraid of it making things unbalanced. The heavy sniper already gets one-shot kills and this thing won't have a variable zoom scope on it, by the looks of things. I mean, it's a rail gun, for Christ's sake, it's bound to be a one-shot deal with a long reload time.

 

tl;dr 21st century musket, single shot clip and long reloads will keep it balanced
