Will it have the ability to shoot through walls using thermal scope to see players hiding in cover?

I bloody well hope not. That would be a touch OP. And if you need help to see that dude creepin on you, you're already dead or as good as.

This shouldnt be online.. even if it was hard to obtain the people who obtain it can easily just grief everyone to death and that wouldn't be fair.

 

Without knowing the properties of the weapon how does it make any difference if people grief with it? You can just as well grief people with the standard pistol if you so chose to (hell the heavy sniper or mini gun are used for "griefing").

 

 

ehh you have to be a sh*tty player to get griefed by a pistol..just saying. Also yes youre right we dont know the properties for it, it doubt it will be remotely close to automatic. im sure the reloading time will be very long to counteract the weapons damage

It's probably similar to the high powered sniper rifle. Maybe it has something to do with the aliens in singleplayer. Definitely won't be OP if it's in Online, probably wont auto-aim like the minigun if it is.

I saw the title of this thread, and thought to myself. This isn't Metal Gear Solid. Why would anyone want a Rail Gun for GTA? Might as well add a tranquilizer gun, claymore mines, stinger missile launchers, nukes, and 50 different variations of rifles, and pistols.

I hope it is Online, if it works like any theoretical railgun then it will have a charge time before firing, and it will require to cool off everytime its fired, and wont require much ammo or even reloading. I can see it being balanced.

Wouldn't it be awesome if what they meant by rail gun they were actually talking about the WWII Howitzer railguns with an extra long barrel that could shoot rounds about 20m/30km away?

The gun looks magazine fed... Take a closer look at the picture between Michael's hands. I'm not too confident in this gun's power now. Guess we're gonna have to wait and see.

 

Also, above the magazine, it looks like there's a dot sight of some sort on top of the gun.

 

If it is online, I'll want to stand on top of the trailer in a playthrough of Satellite Communications or that other mission that you steal a trailer from the cement works...and see what the railgun will do to two Lost MC members chasing you on a Western Daemon Motorcycle.

Forgot about the glock. actually in older GTA's some beta content consisted of carry over cars, weapons etc

for example; the beta Admiral and Taxi from GTA were a direct copy from VC. Probably some of the IV weapons made it into the beta of GTA V. That rubber gun (blue uzi) looks exactly like the uzi from TBOGT

My thoughts would be its anti artillery and jet technology. It can fire at Mach speeds but isn't rapid fire. Rather you charge the shot making very useful against jets and possibly tanks as well. And each magazine, " the picture insinuates it has one" holds very few rounds so while very powerful, gives players on foot a fighting chance against aircrafts without too much trouble outside of auto aim and also giving them a trade off with having to carefully charging each shot.

If it's got a slow charge/reload rate but it's got ridiculous firepower, then it could be the ultimate tank/jet nerf... Not exactly something you'd whip out in close-quarters urban combat, but if you've got one shot against a tank/heli/jet-tard, then it'd be ideal...
