I don’t know about you guys, but I think we're lacking all of the stuff to make us suited what GTA really had for us - street gangs, outlaw motorcycle clubs, crime families and mafias - the really nitty gritty stuff. Sure, we have assets available to kinda get the look we're going for, but it's hard.

Looking like a street gang member is next to impossible unless your character happens to be African American (sorry, but it's true). And even then you won't look like a gang banger, rather your typical Chief Keef fan. The lack of clothes (i.e. tall tees, pullover hoodies, sports jerseys, hats, face bandanas, or even flannels with just the top button buttoned) makes it hard to pull off. On top of that, adding some donks, lowriders, and other hood-type cars to the game couldn't hurt at all.

Looking like you belong to a motorcycle club is hard as well, especially due to the lack of something as simple as a single straight black leather jacket. We basically have the basis of an alright outfit now, thanks to the LTS update (the team pants would suit a biker outfit well). But so much as adding that straight black leather jacket (and maybe a few styles of leather jackets) and a bandana that covers your face would make it so much more legitimate. We already have a few choppers in the game, but seeing a few return from TLaD couldn't hurt either.

Mobs, crime families, and mafias: they’re doable, but they don’t feel proper. No matter how hard you try or how good you can look, nobody’s going to think of you as somebody trying to pass off as a member of the mob unless you literally have about half the lobby filled, and even then somebody’s more likely to think you’re roleplaying as some FIB convoy or something.

What do you guys think?

Racist!

Yeah, totally agree. We need more customization options regarding our characters. We're all these scrawny dudes running around lol.

We can only hope. :panic:

You're probably right.

My dude looks like a journalist in a warzone.

Right now my character looks like he is in a warzone. He's suited for Desert Storm, because if you tried to make your character look like anything else you'd just look like a normal civilian or a lunatic (and not the "slaughter the whole village" type either).

Racist!

It's not even just that they're scrawny, they just all look the same. Despite how much R* gave us, how much of it is actually usable in an outfit?

True. LOL.

it's either you get crackhead character or you get house-staying, noob looking character.

Seriously, my female character looks like someone who stay at home, watch tv everyday, and sitting in the cafe surfing internet. My male character looks like someone who go fishing or sitting in front of computer all the time.

Funny i've been thinking of being a war photographer. just going passive, lobby hopping and documenting the madness. I like shooting though.

OT/ All this sh*t is lacking and like some have said in next gen hopefully it will sort out. It seems (now relax here everyone) that things that have been asked for will definately come out in Current gen. For various reasons.

Not A Nice Person

The dudes look like they exercise once a year, Their bodies are so undefined for a criminal, And the woman look like men unless you spend 40 minutes in the creator like it's a goddamn federal project.

Wearing specific clothes won't make u a gangsta. Look at Claude for example - normal clothes and still looks like a f*cking criminal.

Actually I spent about 60 minutes to create my, well, quite decent looking female.

And it's not because of so many of attractive parts to choose from. It's because of the wonky jackpot-concept character creator.

who still wears xxl tees or flannel shirts with just the top buttoned? we're long out both the 90's and early 2000's. nobody still wears that type of chit

But i agree with the basis of this topic. not enough gangster sh*t. but that's kinda the thing about GTA V in general, R* didnt want gangster sh*t.

I agree withya op. For those of us who where there for the Valentines update last year (last year?), looking like a mobster isn't a problem.

you know...roleplay game sometime dont have a setting for a "role"

so even you wear that "please stop me" mask wont make you a psyco path, you need to kill everyone in the lobby first...

Go to Oakland, you see that stuff all over still haha. The 90s and early 2000s style is still around, it's just not the popular image any more.

And I mean R* kinda signed up for having some gangster stuff the second they created Franklin, since he hangs out with and reps the Families.

I have all that stuff too (minus the Roosevelt, I got rid of it unfortunately), but it doesn't really fit in with the time that GTA Online takes place. It looks good, but it doesn't fit.

Yeah, it definitely can be difficult to make your character look the part of any type of criminal in this game....so I've just embraced it and made him look normal for the most part. I would love to see a wider selection of leather jackets too, the ones they have now are just..ok, it blows my mind that they wouldn't have just a straight plain black leather jacket. One idea I had a while back was to add leather and denim cut-offs that you can wear over everything, including hoodies and other jackets, to really give you that Motorcycle club look. That way when motorcycle clubs get together, not everyone looks the same, they wear their club cuts over their everyday selection of clothes.

I think with rockstar constantly bringing out new cars, planes, clothes, guns and boats its becoming a case where people are just working to earn money to buy the latest things. This is in many ways a shame. I have enough of this outside the game so it would be nice at level 89 not to have to work for money. I think a GTA IV style lobby needs to be added to GTA V just so we can have fun without wasting our hard earned cash.

Unfortunately the roots of online were derailed shortly after launch.

In my opinion Rockstar's logic alone has turned this game into something that it shouldn't be. This is supposed to be one of the most realistic online games there is but it's not exactly realism if I can steal a 5th gen Maserati Quatroporte (Felon) off of the street, in online a car can't be stole and tracked if it's price is above $100,000 the Felon is $95,000. R* clearly don't know their prices because IRL the 5th gen Quatroporte is valued at $130,000+ and if thats the price IRL then I think the in game price should be around the $115,000-$120,000 range.

Aside from the absurd car prices Online is missing some of the key elements that makes a GTA game a real GTA game:

- Not enough traffic, sometimes when I'm driving I'm lucky if I see one NPC driven vehicle and this has happened during the day.

- Not enough retro cars, I know R* likes the modern look for some reason but a city based on L.A. should have more pre 90's cars on the road because America IRL sure does.

- Not enough Theft side missions, Simeons car thefts arent enough, We need more stuff to do besides stealing cars for a dishonest middle aged man.

OP. Yes. Yes. YES!!!!! I completely agree.

This was originally why I switched to playing as a female character. I saw that the male characters do not have much clothing that can fit into a common street criminal look. They get a few items but not nearly the amount of stuff that the ladies get. (Hats, designed hoodies, shirts, and even designed scarves!)

I wanted my guy to look like a hoodlum. 100% from the hoodlum. Afro or decent-looking braids, bandana, baggy shirt, chain, baggy jeans, and an assortment of colorful canvas shoes. I essentially wanted to mimic the North Holland Hustlers from GTA IV.

Instead, my guy looks like a perpetrating mark. :/

It would be good if you actually saw more crime happening with the AI. I can't remember the last time I saw a clothes store robbed.

I think some of you take this game way too seriously and need to unplug your console for about a month while you experience the great outdoors.

The amount of whining, bitching, complaining, conspiracy theories, and short novels about what is allegedly wrong with the game and how rockstar is allegedly trying to screw people over (big laugh every time someone says that) is ridiculous.

It exposes the maturity level of those who play this game - no where near adulthood. Anyone with any sense of maturity wouldn't throw such a pissy fit over anything in this game.

In short; grow the f up and stop acting like everything in this game is making some big dramatic attention seeking post over.

Yeah, what we need is proper tracksuits and member only jackets.

Co sign on this one. My guy toon looks like he hasn't even graduated high school yet & the fact that i can't get him all swole & tall like myself just annoys me bigtime. I still use him from time to time but they F'd with the clothing options for the males i mean two fitteds while the chicks get 10+ & those wack stripped leather jackets & kswiss sneakers smh. My female just looks more badass then he does on top of the variety of better clothing options.
