Is Rooftop Rumble broken on purpose?

What did they do to Effin' Lasers?

In Effin' Lazers, (after you've blown up all the targeted planes) the mission still wants you to get into the jet even though you already parked it in the yellow marker. It happened after the LTS update (patch 1.17).

 

As for Rooftop Rumble, simply ignores the last 2 cars that show up after you kill all the enemies at the parking lot and you will not fail the mission.

I have never failed rooftop rumble when I do it solo but it seems when there is multiple players it seems to happen for no reason. I used to hear people complaining that some other player would keep blowing up the documents but I think it just happens randomly.

RR used to be legendary status. Everyone grinded on it and supercars were bought, but since 1.16, RR has lost a limb. It sucks, failing for no reason, decrease in payout and every quick job you join is RR.

Remember it well. That's back when you could spam RT or RB and replay mission when you weren't supposed to be able to.

Also remember that was our first look at how serious R* took our money making.

Had a group of 4 and we hammered it for a couple hours straight. It got me my first apartment.

Woke up the next morning to discover R* had stealth nerfed the payout from 9k to 3k overnight.

I remember it but but I lost my character in the make a second character deletes your first bug. So it was all for nothing. But its thanks to violent duct we have a permantly broken accidentally on purpose restart button.

I bought my 1st apartment back then, it was on hangman avenue, cant remember which number. I grinded all the time back then. I had the time to. Now I have nothing else to do but do deathmatches and sh*t. But I remember what helped me, RR, violent duct, the stimulus package.

Rooftop continues to be one of the most effective, popular, and successful ways to glean money from this game.

Four people can earn $21000 if they are patient, do the tasks as they are delivered, and don't act like two year old, blowing everything up.

The mission is sensitive and requires that patience and timing to get it done right.

I've played it with others and played it alone. With others is the only time it fails, usually because toolbags can't hold their ammo and MUST blow up the final car.

They didn't break it on purpose, but they changed it so many times that I feel it is broken beyond repair.

 

Like, it seems to me that they didn't clean up some mission fail triggers or something with all of the changes they made. If you blow up the original getaway car, the document destroys itself on spawn. Then there are other ones that just seem hit or miss. I've seen the document destroy itself because enemies were killed too quickly, because someone was camping the document spawn point, etc. etc.

 

The mission was flawed in the first place when you could just destroy the document and get the reward. So Rockstar fixed that, but then they realized that delivering the document didn't take that much time, so they kept buffing the enemies hoping that they would force people to take more time to kill them. After that didn't work 3 or 4 times, Rockstar decided to completely re-work the mission into the ****ing mess we have now. And I'm pretty sure there has been even more tweaks to it since the re-work.

 

All of this was done instead of just fixing the obviously messed up payout because logic means f*ck all to Rockstar at this point. And now we have a mission that has been tweaked so much that I don't even think Rockstar knows the exact parameters to how and why the document is considered destroyed.

yup pretty good summary. They should have just had proper mission payouts from day one. Left this mission as it was and just made new contact missions from scratch.

 

This mission wasn't even named correctly for f*ck sake. This mission is high priority case.

Yeah, it was pretty obvious from the start that High Priority Case and Rooftop Rumble had their names/payouts swapped for some reason.

 

It's not like they never changed payouts before. I remember that Violent Duct had a really high payout (like 15 to 18k) and that changed within the first few patches.

 

Why was Rooftop Rumble so ****ing special that they couldn't just fix the name and/or the payout?

 

I thought it was Parking Garage and Rooftop Rumble, but yeah either way the mission is broken in gameplay and in title.

Happened to me once on Lost MC RIP mission...didn't trigger it and killed most of them then triggered the mission and wham, "mission failed. A Lost was killed." But Idk why people are having so many problems with Rooftop and the documents getting destroyed randomly. I can run the mission plenty of times if I want too and never got that before.

 

Also, most people don't even know that you don't have to destroy every vehicle(or enemy) there. Just the ones in the garage then make your way to the bridge take out the few other guys in there after triggering the mission (only if you're sniping them at first) wait on the bridge for the car the comes down the road where you are in front of you, whip out your mini gun blow it up then wait a few seconds for the documents car to show and go get them. Doing it this way has always resulted in completing it with out error.

I still solo it just fine. If you solo it none of the game breaking sh*t happens. You can blow up whatever cars you want, then just kill the fag that spawns with the documents.

 

Get it done quick, then park across the street from martins. Play on the internet for 5 minutes or so, bumping the controller on occasion to make sure nothing times out. Then just drive into the marker and collect 22,500 and just over 4k rp

Lol to be honest they tried to make it harder but in turn made it easier before you couldnt just lob explosions in the parking lot how you pleased but now you can just clear it out in seconds. Once you have the document there is no way you can possibly die as they removed the suvs that used to once in a while kill you.

 

All they have done is made it easier and broken it by doing so but at least they fixed the running to a car across the road over getting in your p.v after 17 patches.
