You are completely wrong. Everthing is already in the game. Lester specifically tells you in game you will need a high end apartment for some big jobs. The only apartment that had space for a planning board was the high end apartment.

 

A simple google search can show you game articles from September 25th to the early part of October speaking of the pre-requisite of having a high end apartment. Of course this was when everyone didn't know Rockstar cut heists at the last minute.

My one guy has 2 apts just because I wanted to check out the new interiors. 1 Apt and 1 garage was only necessary for the 2nd. I don't really see the need in having 2 apts anyway. But I had a good laugh at the shower being used to wash off blood stains. Never really used it like that, but that's a pretty good idea. +1

 

Still haven't bought a house yet though. Was hoping for a mansion with a 10 car garage, not this 6 car garage nonsense.

I own Weazel Plaza and Richard Majestic because:

 

1) I want an apartment for Heists (lol)

2) They're just across the road from each other. Closer than any other apartments / garages in fact.

 

I set my spawn location to 'Last Location' a while ago now. I'll visit my garages whenever I want to switch cars so having them close to one another is very handy, but for the most part I like starting my day out on the road. Reminds me of the good old days when all I had was a pistol, a Dominator and about 3k in the bank.

I have the same setup. Been at weazel since last year in my low rank days, tried out the new place up in the hills moved out got richards majestic. Helps when you wanna change your garage around with your cars

Leading a heist requires owning a high-end apartment so that you have a room available to set up the planning board. From there you’ll be able to launch missions as the leader, starting with the prep work and building up to the score itself.

I prefer Apts. The only downfall is they cost more money. But what else are you going to spend it on? The price difference isn't that much higher and you get those extra perks. Also with Heists now confirmed you'll need the Heist room if you want to be leader.
