Filip 414 Posted December 28, 2014 (edited) There were 50 cars at max back in the E3 times But still "approximately". Gouranga is not the best source sometimes. HazzardX cut this important word from the quote. Of course we don't strictly know how many cars were in the game back then. and the timecyc had a few more phases that are missing from it. Again, we don't have any source. Only a LQ video. Otherwise I would bother to analyze it in one of my videos. there were antennas. True, so nothing new. HazzardX cut this important word from the sentence. Of course we don't strictly know how many cars were in the game back then. But we do know that approximately means that there aren't 60. It would be a number from 49 to 55. But still, that word is an important mention. Edited December 28, 2014 by CasualSergiu
Queen Elizabeth II 3,209 Posted December 28, 2014 This screenshot... When I was a kid I saw that in some PlayStation magazine, I was so turned on to play it... And I thought it's GTA 2 but made into 3D... I even imagined whole game (in that graphic) and sadly GTA III Never looked like that, lol.
Mr_Leone 1,583 Posted December 28, 2014 Game looked so beautiful back then.
R4gN0r0K 1,622 Posted December 29, 2014 but it changed when the fire nation attacked. but seriously, why did they not want to make a cartoony gta in 3d?

Sergiu 4,921 Posted December 29, 2014 (edited) @Filip454 There's nothing to really analyze, it's obvious. It is missing a few phases there. To be more credible, people need to see it first hand. The handling's the same thing. Again, fishy. That has been my neutral input, people can still analyze for themselves further. Thank you. I don't see why you'd back off and not analyze. If you wish, I could work out a video that's analyzing these. It's no biggie. Edited December 29, 2014 by CasualSergiu

super_slav 51 Posted December 31, 2014 (edited) I don't know if this photos is already posted but here we go. Time machine! Who's that character that they're modeling? Looks like a beta model of the oriental gentleman, it looks more detailed than the final, maybe they had to simplify it. //XP// 1,175 Posted December 31, 2014 It isn't the oriental gentleman. I think it really uses the Keeperh model. Some said that he was a beta character, others say that he is beta Ray....We don't know much about him yet.
Jinx. 7,374 Posted December 31, 2014 It is Ray's head in progress, after the face, IMO.
M0rk 4,874 Posted December 31, 2014 He looks more oriental gentleman than ray to me. Can you show me the keeperh model?
Mr. Jago 2,531 Posted December 31, 2014 there's some similarities to both but I can't really see much of an overall resemblance somewhere deep down in my heart I want to believe that it's a cut character and that we're all just extremely lucky for having been able to see that one screen at that exact moment
Filip 414 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) Well, the full set contains 17 photos of DMA Design HQ in Edinburgh and the source site is german. If you wish, I could work out a video that's analyzing these. It's no biggie. Well, when I was 16, I was bored too and had a lot of free time on my hands it's obvious. It is missing a few phases there I'm just curious - how can u compare sth to sth if u have no previous beta files? This file could be from some other, newer versions (vide 2001 e3). You have no text lines to compare. Only pics and pics are not enough because there are times of the day etc. so nothing here is obvious to be honest. BTW What do you mean by "phases"? To be more credible, people need to see it first hand. If u have some time, feel free to show us the pics, but I don't think it would be a good comparison because sometimes even a retail timecycle can look like a beta. I don't see why you'd back off and not analyze. A total lack of free time (like always) - it is not 2008 anymore (if I have it, it goes to GTA Online anyway). I've read your message, don't worry. Kalvin 10,761 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) In my opinion he looks closest to Ray more than anything, after a quick edit this is the closest I got him to look. Obviously a lot of differences, but it's close enough to show as an example. Edited January 1, 2015 by Kalvin

R4gN0r0K 1,622 Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Sorry for DP, but i think some of you would like this: most of you have seen this image: i wanted to know what was really different about it, so i made an overlay: so, after a bit of photoshopping, i came up with this beauty: the most outstanding thing would be the extra chunk, but there were some minor differences: im not sure if i did everything right, because it is a pain in the butt to see something good in the first image, but still, this is how portland might have looked Edited January 7, 2015 by R4GN0R0K
universetwisters 31,605 Posted January 7, 2015 I'm wondering what was supposed to be at the top right and why it's so isolated from the rest of the island.
R4gN0r0K 1,622 Posted January 7, 2015 maybe the penitentiary and/or power plant?
universetwisters 31,605 Posted January 7, 2015 But then why would a prison or power plant be so secluded to the point where it has no access roads?
ClaudX 5,713 Posted January 7, 2015 But then why would a prison or power plant be so secluded to the point where it has no access roads? Well, if any of the prisoners are anything like Claude, I can see why they'd want them far from people. But then again, if they're anything like Claude, they wouldn't get caught, sooo.... R4gN0r0K 1,622 Posted January 7, 2015 maybe there were dirtroads instead asphalt streets, wich were not shown on this 3d sketch? i dont know, but it would kinda make sense to make it not accessible for normal civilians and trying to hide it?

I think they make prisons pretty accessible to normal folks, at least the one near I live does. All there is to get there is a well-marked access road and that's it. Maybe they simply wanted to give the player a reason to go out there. If it was right by the city, they'd never actually have to go beyond the city's limits. I guess they wanted people to explore. Could you perhaps do the other two land masses as well? Staunton Island looks the most interesting, especially with the beta airport being located on the northern half. Sergiu 4,921 Posted January 8, 2015 (edited) ^ The topmost picture looks like it could be from the Rumpo. Sh*t, just saw it, I'm tired as hell. Thanks for pointing out though. I doubt it. It looks just like the Aster. As awesome as it is, it seems a bit weird how we're finding more and more out about III's early development each year. Off-Topic: This is all sorta old (the info posted above). Just imagine, everything you guys see here, redone, about 45% already is. That's what we have thus far in the GTA3D Mod. Do you have any new info, mostly not known? Sorta. I found out that the Portland extension was some sort of penitentiary along with a power plant. I'm not sure if it's a power plant or not but one thing's for certain, there should be the penitentiary. I've added some rendered models (plant parts) just for reference. Possible parts of the plant: There you go, guys. You can notice penitentiary like blocks and power plant-ish shapes.
