The G ped that on pc both its .dff and .txd are empty is actually complete on the original NTSC version,I haven't checked PAL yet

It's a member of the Hoods gang with the legs being mapped over a Red Jack texture and the torso over a Purple Nine texture

Interestingly its root node it's "gang14" but I don't recall more than 8 gangs in III

It's named gang14 due to it being the 14th gang member. Each gang has 2 members. :p

This pedestrian has the same root node as in final.

and i just found out that in the debug menu you can disable the HUD

I'm guessing they used that feature to take screenshots, trailers and such.

 

 

 

Nah, they have used a special movie menu, sh*t, doublepost.

That's right.

 

Some functions will make the sky blink.

 

Check out for yourself.

 

Also by editing the menu, you can save the game when standing anywhere and you don't have to go to safehouse.

 

I've made a mod some time ago but I don't have any link to provide now.

We can't be 100% sure because these functions could be just removed.

 

And these memory card tests obviously won't work because there are no functions in PC version.

 

 

Video menu is the most interesting because every function works ;)

 

Also wth is wrong with your PC version? Why is it so modded :D

He's using XBOX Version mod.

PS2 version is a lot more complicated to mod, especially the launcher.

That was a rhetorical question. Why not get the original version? Original XB version is a lot better. It has better reflection maps (not discrespecting the original authors of this mod here, they did a really good job on this one).

 

PS2 version is a lot more complicated to mod, especially the launcher.

 

 

Ye, NTauthority's skills would help us.

 

 

 

Legendary and worth watching. Real modding right here ;)

Slightly offtopic

 

There used to be modded PS2 discs of GTA:SA distributed around in Brazil I believe, and it was very common.So I'm guessing it shouldn't be too different and/or difficult to mod the PS2 version of GTA 3.

PS2 version can't load external files like .asi or .dll (even if you'll rebuild iso). So if you want to modify something, then your code is need to fit in already existing code or/and modify PS2 executable .elf file too, if needed. That require more skills, than modding PC version of the game.

 

 

I can help with rebuilding of any PS2 iso if someone's need help. Rebuilding will help to replace data bigger than original or adding completely new files (new placement coordinates of original models and such stuff).

Hey guys, so I started making the scans of the BradyGames guide. Because it's such a tedious process, it most likely won't be done today unfortunately. I'll probably post some stuff that seems beta later today. :^:

 

EDIT: I should probably mention that I'm going on vacation for about 10 days starting tomorrow, so I won't be able to make any more scans until I get back.

Other Interesting Findings

I always wondered about this. I've heard that your stamina increases from progressing in the story, but I've also heard that it increases as you run more.

Wow, these maps really poorly put together. Especially the Pike Creek one. Is that even real, or is it edited? The same map is literally pasted over it and dragged down.

I spy something different. That little white circle near the main airport runway, and I'm betting its that unused radar dome model in gta3.img. I guess they removed it for looking out of place and having no purpose. another mystery solved.

 

 

EDIT: The map pictures are obviously cheaply photoshopped and slapped together so they could fit more on the page. Nothing to do with beta stuff. Honestly how did they print this without noticing how overlapped and f*cked up it looks? Someone shouldve gotten sh*t canned for that.

Hmm... to anyone who wants to see what's there is inside the unknown corrupted peds.col, this file has been left unused and unchanged since III came out, I just figured out yesterday the locations of the missing bytes and readded them back, I also managed to fix all the corrupted values.




here is a fully restored one if you don't have an hex editor or just too lazy to restore it yourself :p
